The Seventh Day Adventist Community Outreach Program has been very busy so far this year offering prayer and the Love of God to Socorro!
In April we had our first ever prayer tent, and in May, we hosted a Prayer Walk both of which proved very successful. We held our 2nd prayer tent of the year at the Plaza Aug 6. During the farmer’s market & car show. September started off with a booth at the county fair which went well.
We hosted a movie night & pizza party on the 17th for the returning tech students. showing “GOD’S NOT DEAD 2”. Sept. 18th was litter control on our Adopted stretch of highway. We have also been blessed to be able to bring relief to a few families in crisis with food boxes.
A couple of ongoing events taking place at 218 Garfield Street are The Kids Pray & Play Bible Club, which had its first day on Sept. 20th and will continue every Tuesday evening starting at 6:30 pm with lots of fun Christian activities. So if you have a child that’s between the ages of 6 and 12 and you’re looking for a great way for them to learn about the bible and God’s great love for them, bring them by, we’ll be happy to have them! Prayer Meeting/Adult Bible Study is every Thursday night at 6:30. Come as you are to join us in prayer & bible study. Everyone is welcomed!
Our next scheduled event is another prayer walk on Oct. 22 beginning at 2 p.m. at the North side of Sedillo Park. This time the prayers will focus on our children, students and schools. There will be other churches joining us in this endeavor who are of the same mind that prayer works miracles. If you would like more information on any of these activities, please feel free to contact Sandy Webster; 208-949-9239 or Elaine Torres; 575-418-9619.
