The vehicle belonging to Andrew Dixon, a man reported missing from Truth or Consequences in late July, was discovered abandoned in Socorro County, according to local authorities.

Detective Shane Jeffers of the Truth or Consequences Police Department said that Dixon’s car was located by New Mexico State Police on July 29 along Highway 1 near mile marker 33. The vehicle was towed the same day by Hicks Towing and remained in their yard until police were notified of its connection to Dixon on October 20.

“There were no indications of foul play observed inside the vehicle,” Jeffers said. “It appears the vehicle was left due to it running out of gas.” He said that the investigation remains active, with search warrants pending for Dixon’s accounts and all leads being pursued.

Dixon, who was last seen on July 28, was living in Truth or Consequences and working at Walmart at the time of his disappearance. He was reportedly wearing a gray T-shirt, faded blue jeans, and white sneakers when last seen.

His girlfriend, Mandy Flippo, said she has a deep concern and heartbreak over the lack of answers.

“He is so loved by everyone that knows him,” Flippo said. “The not knowing if he’s safe and okay or if something awful has happened to him is just heartbreaking and all-consuming. His loved ones just need to know.”

Flippo also said she was frustrated over the initial response to Dixon’s disappearance. “It’s sad that just because he was an addict, nobody seems to care,” she said. “He went from being employee of the month at the beginning of July to missing by the end of it.”

A $1,000 reward has been offered by Dixon’s family and friends for information leading to his whereabouts. Jeffers said he would like to urge the community to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Truth or Consequences Police Department.
