Published Modified

The Socorro High School Class of 1975 will celebrate its 50th reunion September 19–20.

“Once a Warrior, always a Warrior,” said event coordinator Vannetta Perry, who invites her classmates to “reunite, relive, and celebrate their journey from then until now.”

Festivities begin Friday evening with an informal gathering at the Capitol Bar at 5 p.m. Alumni and their families can enjoy pizza and sandwiches along with live music by Johnny Dean, followed by Zia Soul.

At 6 p.m., the Owl Bar and Café will sponsor burgers at the SHS football field ahead of the Warriors’ home game against Ruidoso at 7 p.m. A special seating section will be reserved for the Class of ’75.

Saturday’s events include a free screening of the 1975 blockbuster Jaws at the Loma Theater at 10 a.m., a 1 p.m. tour of Socorro High School, and the main reunion dinner and dance at Kelly Hall on the Socorro County Fairgrounds. Catering will be provided by alum Mike Gaines and his team, with dancing from 7–10 p.m.

For details or to RSVP, contact Bryan Shoemaker at (281) 622-9995 or Vannetta Perry at (575) 322-0010.
