ART Magdalena highlights the artistic spirit in the village
The vibrant artistic spirit of Magdalena comes alive once again with the annual ART Magdalena Gallery and Studio Tour, taking place the weekend of May 16-19, 2025.
This event will feature over 50 artists across 20 unique venues, offering an inspiring mix of exhibitions, open studios, live performances, youth art exhibit and community gatherings. The event takes place throughout the Village.
“It’s a friendly, unpretentious, welcoming event with quality art in a really cool town,” Catherine DeMaria, co-owner of Warehouse 1-10, said.“ Magdalena has always been a creative hub. Currently, we have more art galleries than any other type of business here.”
She said her favorite part of the event is the energy from the crowd. DeMaria noted that making art is usually a solitary endeavor so it’s rewarding to see artists join together to showcase their work.
“Based on attendance, our local community enjoys the cultural offerings. Events like this not only support local artists and galleries, they also bring in visitors, increase tourism and help the local economy.” DeMaria said.
The festivities begin on Friday, May 16, with CWB Gallery Paintings by Ricky Padilla and Eddie Tsosie from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and art openings at Kind of a Small Array, Cedra Wood Drawings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Magdalena art students will have their “DRIP” art installation at the old Salome building which will feature high school art portfolios. At 4 p.m. kind of a small array will host Cedra Wood Song Circle.
Saturday evening 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. wraps up the day with an opening reception at Warehouse 1-10, SIX Solo Exhibitions by Mery Godigna Collet, Catherine DeMaria, Athena Gassoumis, Luis Gutierrez, Marisela La Grave and Gregory Montreuil and a performance by Hieronymus Bogs. This is a combined reception for three new artists Marianne Hall, Merry Godigna Collet and Ricky Padilla installed in the CRUSING MAIN Public Art Project boxes long North and South Main Street.
