The 43rd annual Alamo Indian Day Celebration, themed “Understanding the need for harmonious relationships,” is set to be a vibrant testament to community spirit and tradition.

This year’s schedule is packed with a variety of activities including chainsaw competitions, grease pole challenge, a cornhole tournament along with dancers, live music and a parade families are sure to enjoy.

“It’s gonna be big. I have some politicians already contacting me for the parade,” Nigel Secatero, Alamo Days Organizer said, “The school has been trying to get more involved. They will have every class do a float and the football team and volleyball teams too.”

Secatero said the two day event will kick off with the Elderly Day luncheon.

“We’re gonna be butchering two or three sheep the day before on Thursday and kick off the celebration with a luncheon for the elders on Friday,” Secatero said.

On Friday the Alamo Wellness Center will also host a Fitness Challenge followed by the crowning of Miss Alamo Elder and Lil Miss Alamo. That night families can enjoy a country dance featuring the Wagon MTN boys.
