Public hearing on municipal court scheduled
A public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. on September 16th at the City of Socorro Council meeting to discuss the possible abolishment of the Socorro Municipal Court.
“I am hoping the entire community will be in attendance,” City Manager Donald Monette said in an email.
According to Monette, there was an informal organizational meeting last week to create the committee who will review the court. It will be composed of Mayor Ravi Bhasker, Councilor Michael Olguin, Jr., Municipal Judge Joseph Gutierrez, Police Chief Angel Garcia, Code Enforcement Officer Chris Carillo (Mayoral Appointee), David Naranjo (Councilor Appointee) and JC Trujillo (Judge Appointee).
All interested community members are encouraged to attend.
