Veteran’s Day in Socorro

The community is invited to honor veterans at Isidro Baca Park in Socorro’s historic district on Tuesday, November 11, at 11 a.m. The park is named after Isidro Baca, who died at 19 years old on August 21, 1967, while serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam.

The Veteran’s Day event will include the Honor Guard from the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range. Confirmed speakers include Mayor Ravi Bhasker, NM National Guard Public Affairs Director Henry Minitrez, State Rep. Rebecca Dow, State Senator Crystal Brantley, and Socorro Electric Co-Op Manager Manuel Gonzales. CAP Lt. Col. Dave Finley will provide an introduction and recognize all veterans present.
