Magdalena School Board held a workshop to discuss a timeline and review applicants for the Superintendent position on March 31.

Board president Lynn Major read all the additional public survey comments. Comments emphasized the need for a superintendent with a strong backbone, an understanding of rural culture and support for diverse programs.

The board reviewed resumes and discussed the qualifications of 19 candidates, marking six for interviews. Key criteria included administrative experience, teaching background and data-driven instruction.

The board agreed to conduct interviews on the morning of April 22, followed by a community meet-and-greet session from 5 to 6 p.m. The board also agreed to call references and finalize interview questions.
