Magdalena says goodbye to last year’s glooms by burning them within a paper mache Jack O’Lantern Saturday night. Modeled after Zozobra, the annual Gloom Glow is usually conducted on Halloween, but windy weather made that impossible last year. People had already written their worries and woes down, so the Magdalena Chamber of Commerce burned the

glooms on New Year’s Eve.
