Active Homicide Investigation in Catron County

The Catron County Sheriff's Office announced an active homicide investigation in the Glenwood area.

According to their Facebook post, at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, deputies responded to the Big Horn Campground on US 180 just North of Glenwood in reference to a deceased male subject.

The NMSP Crime Scene Unit processed the scene, and it's been reported they found one unidentified male subject, who they believe is deceased as the result of foul play. Currently, they don't believe the deceased is local.

At this time, the sheriff's office has very limited information and is asking the public for any information. They request that if anyone witnessed people, vehicles, or suspicious activity Monday afternoon into Monday evening at the Bighorn Campground, please report it to them.

"We ask if anyone seen or heard anything out of the ordinary on Monday evening please contact the Sheriff's Office," The Catron County Facebook post said, "As information becomes available we will update the public."
