BREAKING NEWS: Early voting topples 40 percent in Socorro County

Early voting has reached a new high in Socorro County.

Monday, County Clerk Betty Saavedra told El Defensor Chieftain 40% of Socorro County’s voters had exercised their right to vote early either by visiting a polling site in Socorro or Magdalena.

Early voters who cast a ballot in either Magdalena or Socorro total 3,602 while returned absentee ballots numbered 767 as of Monday morning.

The last day to vote early was Saturday, November 2. All absentee ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, to be counted.

Polls in Socorro County open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

There are eight locations across Socorro County that will be open vote tomorrow:

Voting Center 1(Precincts 1,2,4,5,6 and 7): Socorro County Anex, 198 Neel Ave. Socorro.

Voting Center 2 (Precincts 3,8,10, 17,18 and 23): Socorro Senior Center, 1410 Ake Ave., Socorro

Voting Center 3 (Precincts 9, 19, 20 and 21): Polvadera Fire Station, 652 Highway 408, Polvadera

Voting Center 4 (Precincts 11 and 22) San Antonio Fire Department, 38 US 380, San Antonio

Voting Center 5 (Precincts 13 and 14) Magdalena Senior Center, 500 9th Street, Magdalena

Voting Center 6 (Precinct 15) Alamo ANSM Wellness Center, Alamo.

Voting Center 7 (Precincts 16, 25 and 27) Northern Senior Center, 894 Highway 304, Veguita

Voting Center 8 (Precincts 24) Sabinal Community Center, 753 Highwa 116, Sabinal
