January 8
300 block Otero
After waiting for three days for his vehicle to be returned, a male victim called police to make a report his vehicle had been embezzled. The reporting party advised the officer that an individual had possession of his vehicle since Jan. 2, 2025. The reporting party stated the individual was supposed to have returned the vehicle the same day and failed to do so. The victim said he had not been able to contact the person with his vehicle successfully. After the victim had signed a theft declaration, the reporting officer entered the vehicle into NCIC.
January 9
500 block Nicholas
An officer was dispatched to the location for a male wanting to make a police report about his son staying in one of the vehicles that was broken down on the property. The officer was made aware the reporting party had a restraining order against the other party. Officers looked around the property but could not locate the male in question. Officers advised the reporting party if the other party is seen on the property to call the Socorro Police Department.
1600 block
A dispute between a landlord and tenant ended up with a 26-year-old Socorro man being charged with domestic violence-battery. An officer called the home and spoke to a male victim who told him he was checking on the rental home when he heard arguing. The victim told the suspect to stop arguing, and the two began arguing, too. The victim said the suspect struck him and caused injury to his mouth. The victim wished to file charges and wanted the suspect removed from the home. The officer advised the victim he would have to evict the suspect via the legal system. Ivan Jordinson of Socorro was charged with the incident.
January 10
West Pl & Blue Canyon
A man with active warrants was apprehended by officers following the reports he was chasing people with a firearm. The reporting party was able to give investigating officers the name of the suspect, and they were able to locate him a short time later. Once officers ran the man’s information, it was learned he had warrants, and he was placed under arrest. Officers then found an amount of narcotics on his person that were consistent with trafficking. Francisco DeLeon, 27, of Socorro, faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance trafficking.
January 11
California
Police were called because a suspect was trespassing at a store. The officer contacted the suspect, who was still in the store. The suspect was advised he was trespassed and was told to leave.The suspect left. The office was still in the store when the suspect returned. The officer detained the suspect and completed an NCIC check; the suspect had a valid arrest warrant. The suspect was arrested and booked SCDC. Barney Garcia, 54, was charged with criminal trespass not posted. Garcia also had a warrant in a separate case.
Blue Canyon Cemetery
Officers were called to the cemetery for a marked grave being dug up. The officer arrived and met with the caller, who located the grave dug up, and the deceased’s casket could be seen. The family of the person buried arrived and were advised of the incident. The family covered the grave. There were no cameras in the area showing a suspect.
100 block West PL
The victim arrived home and found a window damaged. She did not see any objects that would have caused the damage. The victim checked her video security system, but it did not show anyone damaging the window. At this time, there are no suspects.

A man arrested earlier in the day was retaken into custody after a caller at a business reported he took a Coke and a burrito without paying for them. Barney Garcia, 52 of Socorro was charged with shoplifting and criminal trespass/not posted.
January 12
School of Mines
The victim advised that he had been receiving threatening messages from his ex-girlfriend. The caller showed the officer the messages. The two were messaging back and forth. The caller advised that he assisted in bailing his ex-girlfriend out of jail, but when asked to explain, the caller did not. The officer documented the incident at this time.
January 13
Apache Drive
After a police investigation that included CYFD, a 47-year-old male suspect was charged with criminal sexual penetration in the first-degree child under 13 and criminal sexual contact of a minor second-degree/child under 13.
500 block Delores
The victim called wanting to file a report regarding missing items from the property she owns and for a mobile home that wasn’t supposed to be there. The victim advised the male who moved the trailer in said he had permission from the victim’s younger brother, who does not have the authority to grant that permission. The officer spoke with an older brother who advised that he had seen a wood stove in a vacant home at the moved-in mobile home. The officer was able to speak with the male, who advised the younger brother of the victim and allowed him to park the trailer. The male advised he did borrow the stove with the permission of the brother. the male advised he would move his trailer and return the stove voluntarily.
