BATTERY – Ricardo R. Rael, was arrested and taken to the Socorro Detention Center on July 6 after an incident at 200 South, 5th Space, in Socorro. An officer was called to the scene in reference to a female victim being beat up by Rael at 7:04 p.m. The victim was taken to Socorro General Hospital for her injuries. After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, Rael was found underneath a bed in the home. He has been charged with two counts of battery, an outstanding warrant and resisting, evading or obstructing a police officer.

RIMS MISSING – A resident on Manzanares Ave. E. reported his vehicle was damaged and the rims of his vehicle were missing when he returned home on July 7 after being gone for one day. The officer spoke with two neighbors who were able to describe the suspect.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, TRAFFICKING – Police stopped a vehicle at 1:04 a.m., July 8, on North California Street for not having a license plate. During the stop, the police learned Cecelia M. Yazzie, 49, of Socorro, had valid arrest warrants. She was arrested and taken to the police department for processing. An assisting officer after completed a tow inventory, and located a bag of blue pills, believed to be a narcotic drug. The inventory was stopped, and the vehicle was sealed, and a search warrant was obtained to remove the pills. Yazzie was booked into the Socorro County Detention Center and charged with six counts of an outstanding warrant and three charges of a controlled substance, trafficking.

GARDEN EQUIPMENT STOLEN – On July 8, a report was made from a residence on Mt. Carmel Street in reference to a door being kicked in. An individual said they were taking care of the residence and noticed the break-in. No one was found inside the residence. After contacting the owner, the only items missing were some garden equipment taken from their shed.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – Jiberto Chavez, 35, of Socorro, was taken into custody after a report of domestic violence and child abuse on July 8.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – Nicole Castillo, 33, of Socorro was charged with numerous counts of child abuse, controlled substance (trafficking), possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer and tampering with evidence during a traffic stop on North California Street on the night of July 9. Dispatch notified police an individual was seen using narcotics while a child was in the vehicle. She was arrested and booked into the Socorro County Detention Center. A search warrant was obtained for the sealed vehicle where narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found the following day after the incident.

ACTIVE WARRANT – Police stopped Leroy Gallegos, 34, of Socorro, on the corner of Nicholas and Penn, at 6 p.m. on July 9, for two arrest warrants. He was taken to Socorro County Detention Center without incident.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY – Jaybert R. Mexicano, 40, of Tohajilee, N.M., has been charged with aggravated battery (injury) on 11:05 a.m., July 10, after a victim who was taken to the Socorro General Hospital. The victim identified Mexicano. After following up and collecting evidence, an arrest warrant was issued for Mexicano.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – Pauline Secatero, 45, of Alamo, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after she was found in an abandoned building at the corner of Otero and Fifth Street on July 11. Police found a foil with a blue pill, which was recognized as fentanyl, where she was laying down inside the building. The officer also located a second pill in the suspect’s bag. She was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.

FIGHT – Police were called to a scene in reference to two individuals pulling out guns on victims at 11:23 p.m. on July 11. Police met with the victims and suspects and two individuals, Joey C. Baca, 43 of Socorro and Adadrian J. Jackson, 19, of Socorro, were charged with aggravated assault. Police are still looking for other suspects.

HARASSMENT – Anthony Foss, 41, was charged with use of telephone to terrify, intimidate, threaten, harass, annoy or offend after an incident reported to police on July 11. An individual reported that Foss had been harassing them for some time and wanted it to stop.

THEFT – A resident at 901 Walkway apartments told police on July 11, they had two cell phones stolen from their residence.

CRIMINAL TRESSPASS – Police met with an individual on Bagley Street on July 11, concerning an individual who entered their residence by removing the air conditioner from the window. The suspect indicated $600 worth of items were taken from the victim’s room. Arrested was Vanessa Emord, 30, of Socorro. She was charged with two outstanding warrants as well as two counts of criminal trespass (not posted) and possession of a controlled substance.

FALSELY OBTAINING SERVICES – Fernando Torres, 45, of Socorro was charged with plugging in an extension cord into the victim’s electric meter at 3 p.m. July 11. The victim cut the cord so it could not be used. When the victim checked her bill, she told police it was double what was used in pervious months and submitted her bill as evidence.
