December 14, 2024
400 block Terry Street
An officer was summoned to the 400 block of Terry Street after the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, the officers spoke to a juvenile male who had stab wounds on his arm. The male advised he was talking with his girlfriend, and the two argued, and the girlfriend stabbed him in the arm. The victim did have injuries to his left arm. An assisting officer located the female. The female stated she was with the male when he began saying he did not want to do this anymore. The female left, and the male followed her, making threats to kill her. The male then produced a sharp object, stabbed himself, and told the female he was going to say the female stabbed him. There were no witnesses to the incident, and no weapon was found. The mother of the male advised the male does have a history of self-harm. An ambulance was called to check on the male. The male and female were released to their parents. The case will be forwarded to JPPO.
Highway 85
A trespassing suspect contacted by an officer on Highway 85 attempted to run and was stopped. After giving the officer information not on file concerning her identity, the officer obtained the suspect’s correct name and found that she was wanted by law enforcement. Sheena Pino, 30, faces charges of criminal trespass/not posted, concealing identity and additional warrants. Pino was arrested and booked into SCDC.

1100 block US High 85
A 46-year-old woman is facing forgery charges related to lottery tickets that were reported stolen. The reporting officer was called to the 1100 block of US Highway 85 for a female trying to cash in stolen lottery tickets. The officer was able to locate the female who tried cashing the ticket. The female advised that she was given the ticket by a male who was said to have burglarized a business and taken lottery tickets. Yvette Gonzales faces a charge of forgery of a lottery ticket.
400 block Center.
The victim advised that the unknown suspect took his wallet with his bank card and ID; the victim said his card was used several times in Socorro. The officer contacted one business, which advised a pizza was delivered to the NM Tech Campus, but no address was listed. The officer is following up with the other local businesses in town. The officer obtained a picture of a male at the local restaurant. The victim was shown the image and did not recognize the male. The officer is waiting on information from the Chevron gas station.

500 block Leroy
A 40-year-old male suspect is facing a charge of aggravated stalking after being accused of violating a protective order. An officer was summoned to a residence after the victim complained that the suspect had arrived at the home and gone inside. The suspect fled the residence but later returned and took his vehicle. The investigating officer went after the suspect and, after making contact, made an arrest. Steven Patterson is charged with violation of a protective order and aggravated stalking.
December 18, 2024
1200 block Main
The victim advised visiting a family member for a short time. While at the home, she was not able to find her wallet, ID, or bank cards. The victim canceled her cards prior to filing a report.
2000 block Main
An officer was called to the scene of an unresponsive female. Upon arrival, the officer attempted to render aid until EMS arrived. EMS arrived and stated that the female was deceased. OMI arrived and pronounced the female as deceased. The female was transported via Daniels Funeral Home services
100 block Juniper
An officer was called to the area for a juvenile leaving the home without permission. The mother was following the child and directed the officer to the area. The officer contacted the juvenile, who was upset. The juvenile was detained and taken to the police department. The juvenile disclosed that in an incident with his mother in November, he was struck with a phone. The officer called CYFD and completed an SCI report. The juvenile was taken to SGH and released to the parent at the hospital.
200 block Neel
Officers were called to a charter school dance due to an unauthorized student attempting to attend the event dance without proper authorization. The officer met with the principal, who advised the male student arrived and was asked for his permission paperwork. The student did not have and was asked to leave. The student did leave as asked. The principal advised of hearing rumors that the student had made threats to other students. The officer learned there were no threats made to any student or staff. The officer documented the incident.
Sarracino Middle School
An officer was called to Sarracino Middle School for juveniles involved in a fight. The officer met with school staff, who advised a juvenile suspect tried to fight another student. The suspect was already gone from school. The officer was informed that the suspect went after the juvenile victim in the hallway. The teachers attempted to separate the suspect, but the suspect pushed the staff to try and go after the victim. The officer was provided with video showing the suspect was the aggressor. The video shows the suspect going after the victim and pushing staff. The victim was later released to his parents. The report will be sent to JPPO.
1508 block Fatima
A Socorro woman was arrested following a domestic dispute in which the alleged male victim stated Jane Esperanza Hipscher, 28, threatened to stab him with a knife. Hipscher was taken into custody after officers met with the victim, who said he had been arguing with the suspect when she pulled out a knife and threatened to stab him. The suspect confirmed the argument but denied threatening the victim. The officers were unable to get confirming statements from neighbors. The suspect faces a charge of domestic violence- assault, aggravated.
200 block Neel
An officer was called to the charter school for a report of possible sexual contact. The officer met with the principal, who advised the officer of an email sent by a parent. The parent listed another student had touched another’s private area. The parent arrived and explained the students were playing a game of Twister in class. The male student ended up with his face in the groin of the female student. The male student kept his face in the area of the female student. The female student felt uncomfortable and left the room. The female student reported the incident to her parent, who reported it to the principal. The parent requested the male student’s parents be contacted and informed of the incident.
December 19, 2024
600 block Blue Canyon
A female reported to the officer dispatched to the location her house was broken into and one of her vehicles had been damaged. Officers arrived on the scene and noticed that the back door to the residence had been forcibly opened. Officers were also made aware that one of the vehicles broken down in the yard had been vandalized, and the vehicle’s tarp was stolen. The officer got an estimated value of the damage. Officers attempted to look for security video in the area but were unable to locate any. The officer advised the reporting party a police report would be made on the incident.
Bagley and Grant
An officer called to the area and found a female lying in the roadway. The officer contacted the female and attempted to have the female move from the area. The female refused to comply and became disorderly. The 37-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into SCDC on a charge of disorderly conduct.
1100 block N. California
A watchful police Lt. noticed a male suspect with outstanding warrants and summoned officers to make contact at McDonald’s. Officers arrived at the location and tried to make contact with the male inside of a vehicle. Officers advised the male to step out of the vehicle, but he refused. Officers located the driver of the vehicle inside McDonalds, who opened the vehicle’s doors. Officers assisted the subject out of the vehicle and used the amount of force necessary to apprehend the subject. James Clifford Alton, 35, of Aurora, CO, faces multiple charges including resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer and concealing identity.

400 block Center
An officer was dispatched to the Socorro Police Department as a female wanted to speak to an officer about domestic abuse. The female advised that she had been in a relationship with a male who constantly physically and verbally abused her every week. The reporting party advised the officer that the relationship started in February 2024. The reporting party stated she could not remember the last date that her boyfriend had physically abused her. At the time, the reporting party did not have any physical signs of abuse. The victim provided notes to the officer of incidents where the suspect had made threats to batter the victim and has made threats to harm himself with a gun or go out and injure homeless people. The victim listed abuse from the suspect to his children, with no specific date. Jonathan R. Rosas, 50, faces charges of aggravated assault against a household member – deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and domestic violence assault.
1000 block Grefoc
The investigating officer met with jail staff and was advised of a suspect being found with drugs in jail. The officer was given the evidence, Suboxone strips. The officer interviewed the suspect, who admitted to bringing the Suboxone into the jail on her person. The suspect said she knew she was going to be arrested and brought the Suboxone in so the suspect could trade the drugs for hygiene products, but she was never put in population. Nicole R. Gutierrez, 37, is charged with bringing contraband into places of confinement and possession of a controlled substance
California St and Proto
A 36-year-old Socorro man was arrested after an officer at McDonald’s handing out toys for the upcoming holidays noticed a male operating a motor vehicle. The officer knew the male had a suspended and revoked driver’s license. The officer conducted a traffic stop and confirmed that the driver was not supposed to be operating the motor vehicle. The officer arrested the driver and later booked him at the Socorro County Detention Center.

403 block Bullock Ave
A 42-year-old Socorro man is facing a charge of using a telephone to terrify, intimidate, threaten, harass, annoy or offend; penalty. The victim alleged Anthony Foss made repeated calls over two days and that she had an order of protection against the suspect, but the officer did not find an order.
Reservoir and Silva
The officer contacted a suspect for driving with no headlights. During the stop, the officer noted an odor of an alcoholic beverage on the suspect’s person. The officer had the suspect complete field sobriety tests; during the tests, the officer noted several clues. The driver was arrested, and the vehicle was towed. The suspect was advised of the implied consent warning and agreed to be tested. The test was completed, and the results were .23 and .23. The suspect was processed and booked into SCDC. Kathleen L. Schlarb, 33, of Roswell, is charged with aggravated driving while under the influence BAC .16 or higher, and headlights required.
900 block Padilla
The victim advised that the suspect took a Christmas light laser display from her home. She advised that she had the incident on camera and confronted the suspect about the theft, but the suspect denied it. The victim requested the incident be documented but did not want charges filed.
