BREAKING AND ENTERING – Two Socorro individuals were charged with multiple crimes for breaking and entering a home on Melody Lane on August 20. Rachel Soto, 28 of Socorro was charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, unlawful possession of a handgun, aggravate battery, larceny of a firearm, firearms or destructive devices, receipt, transportation or possession by a felon and larceny. Tyler Burgoon, 23, of Socorro, was charged with five counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, unlawful possession of a handgun, aggravated burglary, larceny of a firearm, firearms or destructive devices, receipt, transportation or possession by a felon, breaking and entering.

THEFT – An individual called police to tell them forced entry was made into their home on Park Street. Once at the home police saw where the suspects entered the home. The officer was shown where the door was opened and noted the items were taken from the home on August 21. There are no suspects at the present time.

GLASS DOORS BROKEN – Police were called to 105 Bullock Street, for damage to property at 3:55 a.m. on August 22. The employee told police when he arrived, he notices two glass doors were broken. The victim told police he had security cameras in place that may show a suspect. Damage is estimated at $750 for each door.

CONCEALING IDENTITY – Veronica Merey Robles, 34, of Socorro, was charged with concealing her identity and for having an outstanding warrant. Police took her into custody. The incident took place on August 22.

IMPEDING TRAFFIC – Hank E. Apache, 44, of Socorro, was charged four counts of driving while under the influence, driving while license suspended or revoked, impeding traffic, and possession of a controlled substance after an incident at 12:31 a.m., August 22, on Sixth Street in Socorro. An officer on patrol located Apache in a vehicle that was driving below the speed limit, causing another vehicle to slow down and pass on the right. The officer stopped Apache in his vehicle and soon found out Apache was driving with a suspended license. Apache was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – Lamar Fountain, 20, of Magdalena, was arrested and booked into the Socorro County Detention Center for aggravated assault as well as firearms of destructive devices, receipt, transportation or possession by a felon on August 23.

CRIMINAL TRESSPASS – An officer was called to a residence that was vacant on 516 Highway 60 at 2:19 pm. On August 23. The officer found two individuals, Monica Acevedo, 38, of Socorro, and Armando Benavidez, 28, of Polvadera trespassing inside the residence. They both were arrested for trespassing as well as having narcotics on them. Both were booked into the Socorro County Detention Center. Acevedo was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance and criminal trespass, posted. Benavidez was charge with eight counts of possession of a controlled substance and criminal trespass, posted.

MOTORIZED BICYCLE STOLEN – Police were called to a home on Alta Vista where the victim reported a motorized bicycle, a rolling air conditioner and a draw from a shelf were stolen on August 24. There are no suspects at the present time.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – Police were called to Circle K, 924 Highway 85, at 8:22 p.m. on August 24 in reference to a female wanting to speak with an officer. At the scene, the store’s clerk told police a female went into the bathroom but did not exit. The officer waited but the female did not exit the bathroom. The officer was called back to find drug paraphernalia left in the bathroom after the female exited. The female was asked by police to empty her pockets and found a syringe with liquid in it. The female admitted the liquid was narcotics. Arrested was Anait Ganadonegro, 31, of Alamo. She was taken to the Socorro County Detention Center where she was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and criminal trespass, not posted.

STOLEN CHECK – On August 24, a victim told police they had written a check to TDS Cable Company for $120. The check was some how changed and made out to another person for $920 and deposited into their account and not into a TDS account. The victim gave police a copy of the check.

TOOLBOXES FOUND – Police were notified several toolboxes were found on ditch bank near Memory Lane on August 27. The toolboxes were turned over to police and logged in for safekeeping.

DOMESTIC BATTERY – Kristen Lynn Jo, 24, of Chinle, Ariz., was charged with domestic violence battery, after an incident reported to Socorro Police at 10 pm., August 28 on B Street. She was arrested and taken to Socorro County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – Jesse Otero, 37, of Socorro, was charged with three counts of resisting, evading or obstructing a police officer, stop/yield sign violation and possession of a controlled substance during a incident at 1:30 p.m. on August 30. Police spotted Otero on his bike and failed to stop for stop signs and cross a roadway signs. The officer attempted to stop him, but Otero refused to stop and drove through a yard. Police were able to stop him. Otero was placed under arrest, and police determined he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the Socorro County Detention Center where during the booking process found he had methamphetamines in his possession.
