BREAKING AND ENTERING – Lex Mexicano, 30, of Magdalena, was charged with seven counts each of breaking and entering, escape from custody of peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, child abuse, criminal damage to property and larceny after an incident at 10:39 p.m. on October 21, at 1212 El Camino. Officers were called to the scene for screaming. When officers met with the victim who advised the male and female suspect broke into the home through a window and took their children from the victim (grandmother). The suspect commented they were going to a motel and headed east. The officers located the suspects entering a hotel in the area. The officers were given a key to enter the room. The room was locked from the inside with a chain. The female suspect was refusing to open the door. The officers forced entry and detained the female and two male suspects – one which was trying to hide. The officer noted the window screen was removed and the window was open. One male suspect was found in possession of fentanyl pills. The male suspect was placed in a patrol car and the other was interviewed. The second male was later released. The male suspect in the car managed to escape the patrol car and was not located. The female suspect, Roianna Paulette Monte, 21, of Magdalena also was arrested and charged with two counts each of breaking and entering, escape from custody of peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, child abuse, criminal damage to property and larceny. Monte and Mexicano were taken to the Socorro County Detention Center. The children were released to a family member.
ESCAPED CUSTODY – Police were called to 1212 El Camino at 4:41 p.m. on October 22, for a suspect who escaped custody the night before being in the apartment complex. When the police arrived, they located Lex Mexicano, 30, of Magdalena. When he saw the police, Mexicano ran from the officers and was captured. During the arrest Mexicano kicked the officer and then grabbed the other officer in his groin. Mexicano was still wearing his handcuffs from the night before. He was processed and later booked into the Socorro County Detention Center. He was charged with 56 counts of battery on a peace officer, 14 counts of assault on a peace officer, 28 counts of resisting, evading or obstructing an officer; and 14 counts of an having an outstanding warrant.
ORDER OF PROTECTION VIOLATION – Angel Anaya 28, of Socorro was charged with a violation of order of protection at 8:30 a.m., October 23. Anaya sent a threatening message to a female who showed it to the officer. She stated she had received several messages from Anaya.
CROSS DAMAGED – Police were called to San Miguel Church at 9:59 a.m. on October 23, where a representative of the church showed police damage to a cross on the east end of the church. The individual estimated the damage was $150.
CARELESS DRIVING – Jason P. Tomberlain, of Socorro, was charged with several counts of driving while under the influence, careless driving, expired registration and no proof of insurance after a crash reported to police at 2:06 p.m., October 23, on Nicholas Street. Tomberlain told police he swerved to miss a vehicle and struck a fence. The officer issuing the citations noticed Tomberlain was intoxicated and was given a field sobriety test. He was arrested and provided officers with a breath sample of .10. He was taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
EMPLOYEE REMOVED – On October 24, an officer was called to the Socorro District School Administration office for an employee who was recently terminated. The officer was advised by the School’s Superintendent the male had words with another employee. The officer also was advised the male was not wanted at any of the Socorro Schools.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – Norton N. Apachito, 41, of Magdalena, was arrested at 11:42 a.m., October 24, on Manzanares Street and charged with eight counts of aggravated assault and four counts each of possession of a controlled substance and criminal trespass/not posted for trespassing and making threats while holding a pair of pliers. The victim told police Apachito raised a pair of pliers at the victim causing the victim to be in fear of being hit. Apachito was arrested and searched, where police found two fentanyl pills in his wallet. He was transported to the Socorro County Detention Center.
FUEL STOLEN – A caller advised police diesel fuel was stolen from a tractor at the City of Socorro Rodeo complex. The complex has a camera system, but they were not able to view the cameras. Currently, the suspect is not known.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – Christopher Patterson, 27, of Socorro, was charged with several counts of domestic violence, battery-aggravated, battery on a police officer, burglary, interference with communications and resisting, evading or obstructing a police officer, after police were called to a residence on South Church Street in Socorro at 11:20 a.m. on October 25. Patterson had previously been evicted from the home for drug use and tried taking a child away from the victim. In doing so, the victim was hit in the face. The victim put the children in the laundry room and locked the door. The suspect began throwing soda cans at her. The suspect choked the victim who sprayed him with mace. The victim told police she lost consciousness and woke up to Patterson taking items from the home. A social worker arrived at the scene and called police. Patterson was later arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY – Police were called to 215 Fischer Space C at 8:30 a.m. on October 25, for a bb gun hole in the front glass door. Damage to the door was estimated at $500.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – Manuelito Andres Anaya, 30, of Socorro was charged with three counts each of aggravated assault against a household member with a deadly weapon, child abuse and domestic violence. Police were called to a home on Granada Street at 2:56 p.m. on October 25. He was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
INDECENT EXPOSURE – Police were called to a mobile home on Blue Canyon Road at 7:23 a.m. on October 26. Officers located a male standing outside the vacant mobile home and when an officer attempted to make contact with him, he ran and dropped a blanket and ran away naked. The female entered the home and then ran out another door, completely nude. The female ran into another mobile home resident’s yard where she was captured. The suspect was taken to Socorro General Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Deseray Edwards, 24, of Polvadera, was charged with two counts each of indecent exposure as well as resisting, evading or obstructing an officer. Other charges are pending. in the case.
