MAN CAUSING DISTURBANCE

On July 9, an officer was dispatched to a local business at 700 N 6th St. for a male who was causing a disturbance on the property. The officer met with the male, who was escorted off the property.

RECKLESS DRIVER ARRESTED ON WARRANT

An officer observed a driver in the area of Hwy 85 and B St. traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic on July 9. The suspect was stopped and placed under arrest when they were found to have active warrants in NCIC. The suspect, Damian Jamal Townsend, age 25, of Socorro, was arrested and booked at SCDC for the active warrant and one count of reckless driving. The vehicle was towed.

VICTIM CALLED NAMES AT VET CLINIC

On July 10 at 1302 Enterprise St., a victim advised officers that a subject came into the vet clinic and was calling them rude names. The victim requested that the subject be contacted and told to stop. The subject was contacted by the officer and informed to have no more contact with the victim or charges would be filed.

PACKAGES STOLEN

An officer was dispatched to a residence at 901 School of Mines on July 10 due to a victim having their packages stolen. The victim advised officers that the package was valued at $150. The victim showed the officer security footage of the incident but the suspect was not identified.

STOLEN VEHICLE

Officers were at an apartment complex at 1212 El Camino on July 10 searching for subjects of arrest warrants. The officer met with a male who entered a vehicle that was reported stolen. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen and then towed. The suspect, Eric Rodriguez, age 31, of Socorro, was arrested and booked with one charge of receiving/possession of a stolen vehicle and booked at SCDC.

ARREST WARRANT

Officers served a suspect with an arrest warrant the officer had obtained for new charges at 407 Center St. on July 10.

ARREST AT PROBATION AND PAROLE

An officer was dispatched to Socorro Probation and Parole at 116 Mechem on July 11 for an arrest order for a female. The female was arrested and booked at SCDC.

MALE ARRESTED

An officer was dispatched to the Socorro Probation and Parole office at 116 Mechem on July 11 for a male with an arrest order. The male was arrested and incarcerated at SCDC.

ITEMS STOLEN FROM VEHICLE

A victim at 911 North California on July 11 advised officers that an unknown suspect entered their vehicle and took items from it. The vehicle was parked at 913 North California St. There are no suspects at this time.

LICENSE PLATE STOLEN

A caller at 810 Leroy on July 12 advised officers that an unknown suspect had taken the license plate off their vehicle. The caller did not know when the incident occurred.

ARGUMENT AT WRESTLING TOURNAMENT

On July 12 at the Rodeo Complex, a victim advised that during the Under the Lights wrestling tournament, he was coaching his team during a match when the opposing team began talking trash to him, then after the match approached and pushed the victim. The victim advised that the parent of the suspect also approached them and began making threats. The victim asked for the incident to be documented, but did not want charges filed at this time.

HARASSMENT AT RESIDENCE

On July 12, at 714 Blue Canyon Rd., an officer responded to a report of harassment at the residence. The officer spoke with a female complainant who reported that while attempting to pick up her son from the father’s residence, a verbal dispute occurred between the mother and father. The father told the child he was not leaving and also made comments towards the female complainant. The complainant asked that documentation be taken of the incident.

CALLER DEMANDS EMPLOYEE BREAK INTO SAFE

On July 12, an employee at 705 North California St. advised that they received a call from an unknown person claiming to be the caller’s uncle. The suspect advised the employee to break into the safe with instructions to use a drill that was on the safe and take the money to a Bitcoin ATM. The case is still under investigation.
