PERJURY – Shawn Still, 60, of Socorro, was charged with four counts of perjury during a trial on June 13 at the Socorro County Courthouse.
CHILD ABUSE – Willie Hardin, 51, of Socorro was charged with four counts child abuse and cruelty to animals on June 14. An off-duty police officer called officers on shift due to finding a small child and a dog in a vehicle in a parking lot. The temperature at the time was 90 degrees. The officer noted the temperature in the car was very hot even with windows and sunroof open. The child (under the age of 5) and the dog were removed from the car. Another officer located the suspect inside a store and arrested him. The child was released to a family member and the dog was turned over to animal control. Hardin was booked into the Socorro County Detention Center.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – Johnny J. Baca, 45, of Magdalena, was arrested at 8:16 a.m. on June 14 after a property owner called about an unresponsive male in a car. The officer contacted the suspect, and he woke up to tell the officer he was just sleeping. However, the officer noted a vile with a black substance on it, next to the suspect. The officer asked Baca to exit the vehicle, when he noticed Baca reach for a small box, containing 16 Fentanyl pills. Baca was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE – Isaiah Chavez, 26, of Socorro, was charged on June 15 on criminal damage to property of a household member and deprivation of property of household member after an domestic incident at 515 Sierra Bonita.
CLARK FIELD DAMAGE – Socorro Police were called to Clark Field in Socorro for an individual spray painting a slide while arguing with the caller. When police arrived, the female suspect had a spray paint can in her bag and were told she painted the slide. The officers tried to detain the suspect, but she resisted and scratched them. Arrested and taken to the Socorro Detention Center was Viola Carrillo, 67, of Socorro. She was charged with three counts each of battery on a police officer, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer and unauthorized graffiti.
FIGHT – On June 16, officers were called a little after midnight for a huge fight taking place at Park and Baca. Once the officer arrived at the area, he noticed a large group of individuals fighting. The officer continued to patrol the area, until he heard a gunshot and noticed items in the roadway. The officer noticed damage to a wall at the residence along with motor oil in the roadway. The officer checked the residence due to evidence of a firearm being discharged, but no one answered. The officer checked the door, and noticed it was open. Once entering, the officer noticed a injured male. The individual told the officer he had crashed his dirt bike. The officer attempted to call an ambulance, but the male victim refused. When other individuals showed up at the residence, no one said anything. The officer picked up items in the roadway and logged them into evidence, then he followed the motor oil trail to a residence where he located a damaged vehicle.
FICTICOUS LICENSE PLATE – Gilbert Montano, 52, of Lemitar, was charged with four counts each of an outstanding warrant driving while license was suspended or revoked, a fictitious license plate, no proof of insurance, stop and turn signals required and possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at 6:59 a.m. on June17 on Spring Street. Also charged with the same citations as Montano was 25-year-old Jeremiah A. Torres of Magdalena.
FIGHT – Police were called to Walmart at 5:30 p.m., June 18, for two women fighting. Battery charges are pending against Victoria Garcia, 23, of Socorro.
SEDILLO PARK FIGHT – Four counts of battery charges are pending against Tranique Jackson, 23, of Socorro, after an incident at 9 p.m. on June 18, at Sedillo Park in Socorro.
OFF ROAD VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY – Alberto Solano, 25, of Socorro, was charged with four counts of resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, vehicle or trailer to be, no proof of insurance and driving an off-road vehicle on the Highway. Police were notified at 10 a.m. on June 18, that an individual was driving an off-road vehicle on Manzanares. The driver fled from the officer but was arrested a short time later. Solano was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY – Raymond Pino, 43, of Socorro, was charged with three counts of aggravated battery, battery and criminal damage to property after an incident at 4:35 p.m. on June 18, at 403 Lucero. Officers were called to the scene where Pino was fighting with the victim. The victim told police they heard a noise in the kitchen and found the suspect in the house. The suspect turned and held an object up at the victim, then proceeded to punch the victim causing injuries. The suspect left the scene but was later arrested.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY – Jesus M. Castillo, 32, of Socorro, was charged with criminal damage to property after an incident at 203 Manzanares. After an encounter with the victim, Castillo was asked to leave the property. Once the suspect left, the victim locked the door but heard a window break. The victim told police the suspect may have punched the window. Glass to replace the window was estimated at $800.
BATTERY ON A POLICE OFFICER – Samantha Childs, 35, of Socorro, faces multiple charges after an incident at the corner of the NE Frontage Road and LaVega on June 20. Childs faces for counts each for battery on a police officer, resisting, evading or obstruction a police officer, aggravated driving while under the influence (refusal to submit blood or breath test), and minor being allowed self to be served alcoholic beverages. She was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center after receiving medical attention.
TRESPASSING – Officers were called to a home for a male suspect trespassing on their property at 503 N. Fifth Street. The officer met with the victim, who advised the suspect was found on their property with a bag of the victim’s property on June 20. No charges were filed, but the suspect was told to leave the property.
ASSAULT – Officers answered a call about harassment on June 20, on California Street. The officer arrived and met with the victim who stated a male in the truck began making threats of killing him if he ever saw him again. The victim stated he noticed the vehicle park in the parking lot and attempted to take a picture of the license plate. The victim said the female with the suspect got out of the vehicle and blocked the license plate. The victim stated the suspect then ran towards him and attempted to pepper spray him. A witness was able to identify the suspect. Charged with four counts of harassment was Luke Dienlin, 47, of San Antonio.
STOLEN ITEMS – An officer met with a victim at the police station about stolen items taken from the back of his car while it was parked at his home on Center Street. The victim told police when he got home from grocery shopping, he took his items inside. However, when he looked outside the next morning, he noticed the hatch to his vehicle was open and noticed items were missing that were valued at $1,116.
SUSPENDED LICENSE – Elijah Montoya, 19, of Socorro, was charged with driving while a license was suspended or revoked, after police noticed he made a traffic infraction on California Street on June 22. When the police found Montoya’s his license through NCIC, they were informed the driver had an invalid revoked driver’s license with a 122G arrest clause. Montoya was arrested and transported to the Socorro County Detention Center.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – Norton N Apachito, 41, of Magdalena, was arrested after a domestic violence call at 3 a.m., June 24, at 400 Manzanares. He was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, domestic violence-assault, aggravated, domestic violence – battery and an outstanding warrant.
STOLEN WEED EATER – A resident on Sixth Street reported a weed eater was stolen from their shed on June 22. The victim said they believed they knew the suspect due to them working for her in the past. The weed eater was valued at $79.
STEREO STOLEN – A victim staying at Econo Lodge told police at 3:18 p.m., June 22, an unknown suspect broke the window of their vehicle while parked in the parking lot of the hotel and took a stereo. The stereo was valued at $300.
RESISTING A POLICE OFFICER – Travis Jeffery Anderson, 30, of Albuquerque, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and for resisting, evading or obstructing an officer after a vehicle was reported stuck at the end of a dirt road west of Blue Canyon on June 23. He was arrested and taken to Socorro County Detention Center.
SHOPLIFTING – Julianna Jake, 31 of Magdalena, was charged with shoplifting after taking three flashlights that were not paid from a local store in Socorro. The property owner was able to recover the items from the suspect after she left the property.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – Socorro Police stopped Francisco Deleon, 27, of Socorro on his bike at 9:30 p.m. near West Place on June 23. An officer was patrolling when he noticed a male riding a bicycle with no rear reflector and traveling the wrong way in the lane of travel. The officer activated his emergency equipment and stopped Deleon. The officer met with him and informed him why he was stopping him. Deleon asked the officer if he was detained and the officer said, yes. Then Deleon told the officer he was going to have to catch him and took off on his bike. The officer chased the male and was able to catch DeLeon and placed him under arrest. The officer searched the male and located narcotics. Deleon was taken to the Socorro County Detention Center when he was book for three counts of possession of a controlled substance; resisting, evading or obstruction an officer; and required equipment, lights, brakes, etc. on bicycles.
SHOPLIFTING – Dottie Secatero, 40, of Socorro, was charged with shoplifting from Walmart Supercenter at 8 p.m. on June 24. Items stolen were valued at $24.77.
EVADING A POLICE OFFICER – Julian M. Silva, 36, of Socorro, is being charged with resisting, evading or obstructing an officer following an incident at 3:15 p.m. on June 24. Police attempted to contact him due to Silva having a valid arrest warrant. Silva fled and police were not able to capture him.
PROPERTY INVASION – An officer was contacted by a resident in the 300 block of Second Street on June 24, concerning someone entering her property and opening the gate to separate her goats. The individual stated she is in the process of getting cameras, but she does not have any yet. She wanted the incident reported.
STOLEN PROPERTY – A resident in the 100 block of Montoya Place reported to police at 12:51 p.m., on June 24, a burglary. She told police, she believes the individual entered her home and took cigarettes and money. The victim stated the suspect forces entry into her residence.
THEFT – A resident in the 300 block of McCutcheon Ave., reported to police someone had entered her residence through a window and taken two TVs and other valuables. The victim said she was able to recover the TVs, however the value of other stolen property was $700.
VEHICLE BURGLARY – A resident who lives in the 100 block of School of Mines at 1:14 p.m. on June 25. The individual told police when he arrived for work, he noticed the door to his work vehicle was open. Missing were several toolboxes.
