Kitty Norris 1926 - 2025

Kitty Norris was born in Hagerman, NM, on May 21, 1926 and passed away in Albuquerque on August 22, 2025. Kitty lived her life loving her family (consisting of pretty much anyone who wanted to be treated like family), her Savior Jesus, wildflowers, and the mountains where she grew up. When she was a girl, her family moved to Tres Lagunas, NM. It wasn’t long before she met and fell in love with Jimmie Norris. They married in Pie Town on December 25, 1942, because it was the only way they could convince their parents to spend Christmas together.

They moved to Socorro shortly after WWII. They had four children, Sam (Cathy), Vicki (Mike), and Jimmie (Melody) who survive her, along with 30 grand/great-grand/great-great grandchildren, and 1 on the way. In 1976, their daughter Carol Beth passed away at age 20. Kitty’s husband Jimmie passed away in 1990. Funeral and burial were held in Socorro on August 30, 2025. A celebration of life will be held at Koinonia Church, 10405 Comanche RD, NE, Albuquerque, on Sunday, October 26, at 2:00. Memorial gifts may be given to High Desert Hospice.
