It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Matriarch, Linda.
Linda Griego, 88, of Socorro, N.M., passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on September 28, 2024.
She was a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and her most treasured title of all, G.G. Our Lindy was truly a Jill of all trades, touching the lives of many through her talents and heart.
She was a strong political influence for all women, her family, and her community, winning by landslides in elections—a testament to her unwavering dedication to the people.
Linda was a woman of remarkable abilities and an even bigger heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or share her wisdom.
Linda’s daughter, Pamela, was not only her best friend but also her devoted caregiver.
Their bond was unbreakable, rooted in an unconditional love that carried them through every challenge and cherished moment. Pamela’s deep love for her mother was evident in the way she tirelessly cared for her, always ensuring that Linda was comfortable, supported, and surrounded by warmth. Together, they shared countless memories, laughter, and a closeness that will forever remain unmatched.
Linda took immense pride in Pamela’s unwavering dedication, and their profound connection will be remembered as one of the most beautiful aspects of Linda’s extraordinary life.
The apple of her eye was her beloved Jasiah, who was her right-hand man and stood by her side throughout her journey. Linda took great pride in him, cherishing his unwavering support, and dedication, which brought her immense comfort and joy.
She could often be found riding the tractor, tending to her yard, and marveling at the beauty of nature, frequently saying, “Look at what the good Lord blessed us with.”
Linda cherished her rides to the casino with her sister Priscilla, where they enjoyed moments of laughter and relaxation.
Linda embraced all sports, from baseball, to hunting and football, spending time with her sisters, nephews and nieces playing in the fields and sharing great laughs and creating beautiful memories.
She will be remembered not only for her many talents, but also for her warmth, generosity, and joy for life.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Juan JB Gonzales and Teresita Trujillo Gonzales; her son, Billy William Griego; brothers, Johnny Trujillo, Frank Gonzales, and Max Gonzales; sisters, Priscilla Saavedra, Maria Concha Gianera, Irene Garcia, Josie Torres, Ramona Trujillo, and Gertrude Long.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Pamela; daughter in law, Cindy; her grandkids, Shannan (Michael), Celeste, William (Christie); her great-grandchildren, Dezirae (Bishop), Michael (Malorie), Jordan (Shaydan), Marcus, Zabrina (Ben), Zariah (Andrew), William Jr (Adrianna), Zack (Andrea), Jasiah, Bachs, Zahneah, Zarrick, Casper, and her beloved great-great-grandbabies.
Linda’s life touched the hearts of many and her legacy will live on through those she loved and cared so deeply for.
Services for Linda will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at San Miguel Catholic Church.
A visitation will take place at 9:30 am. A rosary will then be recited at 10 a.m.
A celebration of Linda’s life will take place immediately following at the Socorro Convention Center at 11 am.
