Wilton Jones

Wilton Jones, Sr, age 87, a resident of Socorro, New Mexico, passed away on February 13, 2026. Wilton was born in Pickens County South Carolina to the late Bruce and Myrtle Jones of Greenville South Carolina.

He was married to Charlotte for 50 years. They had 4 children, Glinda Kuehnlenz (John) of SilverCity NM, Tami Jones of Roswell NM, Wilton Jones of Socorro NM, and Ellie Lucero (Adrian) of Radium Springs NM. Multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He served in the Army for 9 years. After leaving the military he worked for the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy, where he later retired from.

He is survived by his brother Preston Jones of Salem South Carolina and Bonnie Snow of Oveida Florida. Many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. 

Wilton was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on February 28th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Glory Bound Baptist Church. 29 Pino St San Antonio, NM. Gathering afterwards at the Jones residence 1990 State Rd 1 Socorro NM.
