Dear Sammy
Dear Sammy,
I want to know how you have lived in this world and seen all you have seen and manage to still enjoy life. Watching the news and getting on the internet just makes me sad. I’m only 24 and couldn’t imagine living through what others before me have seen and still be happy. Can you tell me how you keep hope in humanity? I promise I’m not depressed ; it’s just the past 6 years have seemed to go downhill in the world. I need advice from someone with wisdom and experience.
Thank you,
Desperately Seeking Solace
Dear Desperately Seeking Solace,
Remember the good things! At the end of the day, we still walk the earth and get to enjoy its many luxuries. Try to find things and people that exhibit grace. If you can’t see that, YOU can be that person. “You have to be the change you want to see.” Go out of your way to make someone’s day brighter, lend a hand to someone in need, leave spaces to come across better than you found them. Lastly, regardless of which religion you identify with, believe in the power of faith and prayer. Your beliefs will carry you through.
