Socorro Police Blotter
CAR WINDOW SMASHED – Police were called to the Holiday Inn Express in Socorro for a vehicle’s window damaged and items stolen from a car on May 4. The victim provided the police with a list of items missing from her car. At the same time, an officer was called to the restaurant next door to the motel for a briefcase found by the dumpster. The briefcase was the one stolen from the victim’s car. The restaurant showed police a video of the dumpster area. The officer saw a person walk into the area where the dumpster was. A male has the briefcase and then later leaves without the case. The officer was not able to identify the male suspect at the time.
BATTERY – Police were called to the Socorro Plaza on May 8 in reference to a male bleeding from the face. The victim said he was battered by another male. Police located the suspect, Henry Reichenback, 61, of Socorro, and charged him with two counts of battery and two counts of criminal damage to property. He was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
RECKLESS DRIVING – Jacob Snow Fanning, 23, of Socorro, was witnessed traveling at a high rate of speed on his motorcycle south on State Highway 1, at 7:21 p.m. on May 8. An officer attempted to stop Fanning using lights and sirens, however, he continued to drive away from the officer. The officer was able to stop Fanning and arrested him. His motorcycle was towed, and Fanning was taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY – Charges are pending against Brandon Savedra, 41, of Socorro for criminal damage after an incident reported on May 8 at 714 Blue Canyon. The victim told police Savedra threw an object at a shed window causing $200 in damage. The victim showed the police a video of the incident.
WARRANT – Police arrested Steven Patterson, 50, of Socorro, on an outstanding warrant on May 8. Patterson was taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
BREAK-IN – Police were called to a property at 200 Fifth Street for a break-in to the property owner’s storage shed at 10:38 a.m., May 9. The back door to the building had been kicked in. No major items of value were taken. There are no suspects.
NO LICENSE PLATE – Police stopped a vehicle on Fisher Street on May 9 for not having a license plate. The driver of the vehicle stated she did not have a driver’s license registration or insurance. Police issued the driver a citation and towed the vehicle.
TRESPASS – An officer was dispatched to 519 Highway 85 for an individual trespassing on private property on May 10. Celena Bruton, 44, of Socorro was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center. Her vehicle was towed and the dog inside her vehicle was taken to the Socorro Animal Shelter.
DOG ATTACK – On May 11, police were notified of a dog attack at 1106 Lopezville Road on May 11. No charges were filed.
BREAK-IN – A home located on Pena was reported broken into on May 12. Items totaling more than $8,600 were taken from the home.
HARRASSMENT – Brendon Savedra, 31, was cited for harassment after an incident at 5:11 p.m. on May 12, after an incident at 714 Blue Canyon Road. The officer was shown a video of Savedra walking to the fence and yelling at the female victim. The officer met with Savedra who told him there was always an argument with the victims, but the victims were the ones wanting to fight.
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE – Adrianna Yvonne Collins, 28 of Socorro was arrested on an outstanding warrant on May 12, and later charged with possession of a controlled substance, fentanyl. The drugs were seized and logged as evidence after she was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
MOTOR VEHICLE STOLEN – A motor vehicle was stolen from outside of Walmart at 7:30 p.m. on May 12. A male was seen walking near the vehicle and gained entry. The suspect was able to start the vehicle and drive north on Interstate 25. A theft declaration was signed, and the vehicle was entered into NCIC. Surrounding agencies were notified of the description and direction of travel.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – Pending charges against Rebecca Apachito, 32, of Socorro, for two counts of aggravated assault and two charges of criminal damage to property are being pursued after an incident at 400 Manzanares at 1:51 a.m. on May 13.
FIGHT – A fight between two individuals was reported at 12:09 p.m. at Sarracino Middle School on May 13. The caller advised police that a victim was walking down a hall when she came to an intersection of another hall. The caller advised the suspect punched the victim one time and walked off. The students were not in school at the time the report was made.
STOLEN YARD LIGHTS – Three stolen yard lights were reported to police at 11:47 p.m. on May 13. The victim told police a male walked onto the property smoking a cigarette. The suspect tried opening the screen door to the victim’s home, but it was locked. The male then removed three-yard lights and left the property when the victim yelled at him. Police reviewed the video but could not identify the suspect.
BATTERY – Gabriel Silva, 48, of Socorro was arrested on a charge of battery against a household member at 8:36 p.m., May 13. Police were called to a home at 105 Peralta concerning domestic violence assault in progress. The victim told police Silva pushed the victim down during an argument and fled. Officers located the suspect hiding by a trailer. The officer arrested Silva, who also had a valid arrest warrant. He was taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
TIRE DAMAGE – A resident at 502 Bullock reported their vehicle’s tires were damaged by a sharp object at 4:30 p.m., May 14. The officers were provided with the name of a suspect and a license plate number for the vehicle the suspect left in.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS – Antonia Aguilar, 27 of Socorro was charged with two counts of criminal trespass/not posted and two counts of possession of a controlled substance after an incident 7:40 p.m. on May 14, on Reservoir Road. The suspect was booked into the Socorro County Detention Center, where jail staff located a blue colored fentanyl pill. The pill was logged into evidence and charges were filed.
WARRANT – An individual with an outstanding warrant was found hiding under a trailer in the 800 block of Padilla Place at 1:15 p.m. on May 14. The individual was arrested and taken to the Socorro County Detention Center.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – Fernando Reyes Jojola, 43, of Albuquerque, was arrested and booked into the Socorro County Detention Center on May 15, after an incident that took place at 1500 NE Frontage Road. Jojola arrived at the victim’s home and was asked to leave. Instead, Jojola threw the victim to the ground and tried to hit the victim with a shovel. The victim told police Jojola left with another family member before the officers arrived. Jojola was brought back to the scene by a family member and is charged with two counts aggravated assault against a household member with a deadline weapon and two counts of battery against a household member.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY – Joshua Sisneros, 31, of Socorro, has two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and two counts of criminal trespass, not posted, pending against him after an incident on May 16 on South California Street. The victim told police he was working on an ATV when he saw Sisneros come in and start hitting him. The victim said Sisneros hit him several times with a silver firearm. Police did see visible injuries to the victim’s face and ear.
SHOPLIFTING – An officer was called to Tractor Supply in reference to a male shoplifter on May 16. An employee told police a male was walking around the store then grabbed a box from the shelf and ran out of the store and got into a white vehicle that immediately took off. Taken was a green works pole saw valued at $279. Police were shown a video of the suspect. The male was the same person who stole from the store a week prior.
DOMESTIC – Abraham Aguirre, 25, of Rio Rancho was charged with criminal damage to property of a household member and deprivation of property of a household member after a domestic violence incident at 210 Silva, Socorro, on May 17.
ASSAULT – Daniel Tafoya, 38, of Socorro faces assault charges after an incident on Hope Farms Road at 4 p.m., May 17. An officer arrived and met with the victim who stated the suspect attempted to fight him. The victim stated he believed the suspect was going to hit him. The officer met with Tafoya who stated he did go see the victim and try and fight him. At that time, the officer informed Tafoya he would be charged with assault.
