Missing father and daughter – search underway in New Mexico

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a father and daughter who disappeared during what was expected to be a day hike.

Kyle Martin Plancich, 38, and Leticia Ruth Sanchez Albarran, 22, were last seen Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026, in the Socorro area.

According to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, the pair had planned a day trip to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. Their cell phones last pinged around 5:30 a.m. near Socorro and La Joya.
Investigators later found Kyle’s backpack and wallet along Interstate 25. His identification and cards were missing, and both cell phones were also found at the scene.

Their vehicle is also missing.
