According to New Mexico State Police, on March 5 the father and daughter who were reported missing and last seen in Socorro the day before were located safely in Panguitch, Utah.

On March 5, authorities were asking for the public’s help in locating a father and daughter who disappeared during what was expected to be a day hike. Kyle Martin Plancich, 38, and Leticia Ruth Sanchez Albarran, 22, were reported last seen Wednesday morning, March 4, in the Socorro area.

According to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, the pair had planned a day trip to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. Their cell phones last pinged around 5:30 a.m. near Socorro and La Joya. Investigators later found Kyle’s backpack and wallet along Interstate 25. His identification and cards were missing, and both cell phones were also found at the scene. The 2004 Kia Spectra they were reportedly driving was also missing.

Requests for public records from State Police on the case were not fulfilled before the Chieftain deadline.
