VEHICLE DAMAGED
On Oct. 18, in the area of Mariposa, officers were called to the scene of a damaged vehicle. According to the report, the officer met with the vehicle owner, who advised that the juvenile had damaged the window, but that the family and the victim had reached an agreement said reports. The officer spoke with the guardian, who agreed to fix the window.
DUI CRASH
On Oct. 18, in the area of Mary Place, an officer was called to the scene of a crash. According to the report, the officer met with the victim, who advised that a suspect had crashed their vehicle into the victim’s vehicle and then fled the scene. The officer was given a description of the suspect, and when the officer began looking for the suspect, he was called back to the scene as the suspect had returned. The officer made contact with the suspect, who showed signs of intoxication. The suspect was given field sobriety tests and showed several clues. The suspect was arrested and provided two breath samples for .14 and .12. The suspect, Gabriel Beltran, age 23 of Socorro, was charged with two counts of damage to a vehicle and two counts of driving under the influence. Beltran was processed and booked at SCDC, said reports.
WARRANT ARREST
On Oct. 18 in the area of Park Street, an officer was called to an apartment to remove a male who wasn’t wanted and may have an arrest warrant. According to the report, the officer contacted the suspect and confirmed the warrant. The suspect contacted the family to pick up his property and two shotguns, said reports. The family arrived to pick up the suspect’s property and vehicle, and the suspect was booked at SCDC.
ITEMS STOLEN FROM TRUCK BED
On Oct. 19 in the area of North California Street, a victim advised that items were taken from the bed of their work truck overnight. According to the report, the officer met with the hotel staff and was able to find video of the incident. A female in black is seen walking up to the truck, taking items, and walking off. The female then meets with a second female. The officer was able to locate the female suspect, who was in the video, but the suspect said they no longer had the items, and the second female took the items to another address, reports said. The officer checked the suspect’s bags and recovered propane tanks as one of the stolen items. Charges are pending.
ITEMS TAKEN
On Oct. 19, in the area of North California Street, a victim contacted an officer and reported that several items had been taken from his vehicle. According to the report, the victim provided a list of items and said that the items could have been taken from the Walmart parking lot or the hotel where he was staying. The officer checked the cameras at Walmart but did not see anyone accessing the victim’s vehicle. Leondra Pargas-Deleon, age 27, of Socorro was charged with one count of larceny, said reports.
WARRANT ARREST AND METHAMPHETAMINE
On Oct. 19, in the area of Spring and Central, officers located a suspect with an active arrest warrant. According to the report, officers watched and approached the suspect, who then dropped a foil as officers approached. The suspect was arrested for their warrant and searched. The officers collected the dropped foil and found it contained methamphetamine. The substance was tested and came back positive for a narcotic, said reports. The suspect, Lorenzo Valenzuela, age 47 of Socorro, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of tampering with evidence, and had two active warrants. Valenzuela was processed and booked at SCDC.
ASSAULT
On Oct. 19 in the area of Spring Street, officers were called to the scene of a suspect threatening to harm a victim. According to the report, the officer met with the victim, who denied any threats or arguments. The officer met with a witness, who advised that the suspect had a steak knife and had threatened to kill the victim. The suspect was located in the apartment, but no knife was found, said reports. The suspect, Marvin Monte, age 40 of Magdalena, was charged with one count of assault against a household member, a threat, but not battery. Monte was then arrested and booked at SCDC.
CYFD HOUSE CHECK
On Oct. 20, in the area of Lucero, officers assisted CYFD in a house check. According to the report, the officer was advised that there was suspected drug use in the home. The officer and CYFD staff met with a grandparent who was advised of the allegations. The grandmother advised that she did have a substance abuse addiction, but did not use drugs around the children, said reports. The officer and CYFD staff then met with the parents and completed a house check. The parents consented to drug tests and were taken to Casa De Luz. According to the report urine tests were completed, and the parents and grandmother all tested positive for THC, with the grandmother also testing positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl. An arrangement was made to have the children stay with a family friend.
FRAUD
On Oct. 20, in the area of Center Street, a victim requested to report fraud. According to the report, the victim advised that she had been scammed online and provided information online. The victim said that the incident occurred while living at home in Alamo, NM. The victim was advised that a report would be filed. The victim was advised she should also file with her local agency said reports.
REPORTING MAN WHO TOOK PHOTO
According to reports, on Oct. 20 in the area of Mineral Way, a caller advised her ex-boyfriend had taken a picture of the victim’s car as she was leaving the hospital and asked that the incident be documented, as there is no protection order in place at this time.
AGGRAVATED DUI
On Oct. 20 in the area of Highway 60 and Spring Street, an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. According to the report, the officer met with a male driver who showed signs of having consumed alcohol. The officer asked the male for his registration and took a long time to locate his information. When asked to step out of the vehicle, the male was uneasy on his feet and using the vehicle for balance. The officer had to hold the male driver up so he would not fall. The officer attempted standard field sobriety tests but the male could not stand on his own. For the suspect’s safety, he was placed in handcuffs and put in the back of the unit. The officer found open beers inside of the vehicle, said reports. The male was transported to SCDC where he did not provide a breath sample. The male was then taken to SGH for medical clearance. According to reports, the male, Carl Cano, age 43 of Socorro, was charged with three charges of aggravated driving while under the influence for refusal to submit blo
SUSPICIOUS DRIVER
On Oct. 21 in North California an officer was dispatched to a local gas station to speak to a male. According to the report, the officer made contact with a male who saw a suspicious driver. The male said he was at a stop sign and the truck in front of him stayed for a long time just inching forward, the male said the vehicle then followed him in town for a short distance, according to reports. The male said he had to drive to work and then called the police. The officer tried to locate the suspect’s vehicle but did not find a vehicle matching the description.
WARRANT ARREST
On Oct. 21 on Mechem an officer was called into the probation office with an arrest warrant. According to the report, the officer was provided with a warrant and the suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
STUDENT EXPOSES HIMSELF TO CASE WORKER
On Oct. 21 in the area of Michigan Avenue, an officer was dispatched to Socorro High School to make a report. According to the report, the officer was advised of an incident that happened a few weeks earlier. The officer was advised of a student who was working with a case worker through online video. The student had made rude sexual remarks towards the case worker and the student later adjusted the camera down and exposed himself to the case worker said reports. The incident was documented.
COUNTERFEIT MONEY
On Oct. 22, an officer was called to a business on North California Street for counterfeit money being passed. According to the report, the officer met with a caller who advised a customer had arrived and purchased lottery tickets with fake money and then left. The officer was provided with a description and plate number for the suspect’s car. The officer located the suspect, who advised she did not know the money was fake and received the money from a family member. The suspect agreed to pay for the lottery tickets and was taken back to the store where payment was made. The suspect was trespassed from the store but the owner declined prosecution, said reports.
MALE FOUND DECEASED
On Oct. 23, an officer was dispatched to the area of Liles for a male who was unresponsive. According to the report, when officers arrived on scene, they noticed a male lying face down and were advised by EMTs that the male was deceased. The officer called for OMI to conduct their investigation, and the deceased male was picked up by Daniel’s Funeral Home.
HOUSE CLEANER TAKES ITEMS
On Oct. 23 in the area of Harold, a victim advised that they had hired the suspect to clean their home. According to the report, the victim returned home and noted that several items were missing. The victim checked their cameras and saw the suspect taking several items, including a set of keys. The victim advised that he did not want charges filed, only his keys. The officer later located the suspect and did not locate the keys, said reports.
BATTERIES AND WEED TRIMMER TAKEN
On Oct. 24 at the Main Street Waste Water Plant a caller advised that an unknown suspect entered a fenced city yard and took vehicle batteries and a Stihl weed trimmer from the property. According to the report, the caller did not know how someone entered the property. The caller provided a list of stolen items and their value. The reports said there are no cameras at the city facility to identify a suspect.
TRESPASSING SUSPECT IN BED
On Oct. 24, in the area of Lincoln Street, officers were called to a home for a possible trespasser. According to the report, the officer arrived and met with the victim, who said the lights were on in the home earlier and now they were off. The victim was unable to use a key to enter the home, so the officer located an open window and searched the home. The report said the officer located the suspect in a bed, and the suspect was arrested. A search during the arrest was conducted, and the officer located fentanyl pills on the suspect. The suspect, Kevin Edwards, age 44 of Truth or Consequences, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal trespass/not posted. Edwards was processed and booked at SCDC according to the report.
FEMALE SUSPECT ARRESTED
On Oct. 25, in the location of Chaparral, the officer was advised of a female suspect with an arrest warrant. According to the report, the officer contacted the suspect and placed her under arrest for the arrest order. The officer was advised that the suspect brought a bag with her to the property, and the bag was collected. The report said that when the officer gained consent to search the bag, they found a spoon that had drug residue. The residue tested positive for methamphetamine, and the officer filed charges. The report said the suspect, Tara Tarver, age 50 of Lemitar, was charged with two active warrants and two charges of possession of a controlled substance. The evidence was logged at the police department.
VICTIM PUNCHED
On Oct. 25, in the area of North California Street, a victim advised she was walking into a convenience store and was contacted by a suspect. According to the report, the suspect bumped into the victim and then struck the victim with a punch. The victim went into the store and later left. The victim said she had an order of protection against the suspect’s husband that included his family. The officer filed a report, and Devon Gonzalez, age 31 of Socorro, was charged with one count of battery, said reports.
BROKEN WINDOW
On Oct. 26 in the area of Manzanares, an officer was dispatched to the Socorro Police Station, where he spoke with a reporting party. According to the report, the reporting party said she was in a verbal argument with a guy she had met. The reporting party said when she got to the male’s house the the argument continued and the man stepped out of the vehicle. The report said the female was rolling up her driver’s side window to leave when the male punched the window, breaking it. The female advised officers she did not want to pursue charges and would not go to court. The female asked that the incident just be documented as an informational report.
MISSING ITEMS
On Oct. 26, in the area of Granada Street, a victim advised he was working on homes and noted missing items. According to the report, the victim said he had notified the owner of the homes of the missing items. The victim was shown a video of a male and a vehicle, and the victim recognized the driver of the truck. The victim spoke with the suspect, who named a second suspect, claiming he did not know the items were stolen and believed they belonged to the second suspect. The report said that the first suspect asked the victim for a week to retrieve the items and has not made contact. The victim filed a report and provided a list of stolen items.
NEGLIGENT USE OF A FIREARM
On Oct. 26, in the area of Granada Park, officers were called to the scene of a suspect shooting a firearm. According to the report, the officers arrived in the area and received several more calls of gunshots; they also heard gunshots in the area. The officers were told who the suspect was and where he was located. The officers secured the area and called for assistance. The report said that the officers gave commands to the home and received no response, so the officers entered the home and located the suspect. The suspect refused to comply and resisted. The suspect, Leroy Angel Christopher Saavedra, age 38 of Socorro, was charged with two counts of negligent use of a deadly weapon and two counts of resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer. The officers were able to handcuff and arrest Saavedra, said reports.
PURSE TAKEN
On Oct. 27 at Lotaburger, a victim advised that an unknown suspect had taken a purse from inside the victim’s vehicle. According to reports, the purse contained an ID, bank cards, money and spare keys.
WARRANT ARREST
Officers were called to the probation and parole office on Oct. 27 for a warrant arrest. According to the report, the officer arrived and met with the probation officer and the suspect. The suspect had a valid arrest order and was arrested and booked at SCDC.
BURGLARY
On Oct. 27 in the area of Harold, officers were called to a scene for suspects seen on camera breaking into a vehicle. According to the report, the officers arrived and began checking the area. Officers noted a car battery and battery powered chainsaw on the ground and located a female suspect inside a vehicle. The officer gave commands for the suspect to exit the vehicle, and the suspect was detained and placed in a patrol car. The report said the officers checked the vehicle and removed a fanny pack. Officers then met with the caller, who showed officers a video of a male and female suspect on the property checking vehicles. The report said the female was seen on video wearing the fanny pack. The suspect, Cathryn Breaux, age 25 of Escondida, was charged with four counts of burglary, four counts of criminal trespass, and when the fanny pack was searched, it was found to contain narcotics, so charges were filed for eight counts of possession of a controlled substance. Breaux was booked at the jail, and the male suspect has not been identified at this time, according to reports.
WARRANT ARREST
On Oct. 28, in the area of N 6th Street and Neal Street, officers contacted a suspect who was known to have a valid arrest warrant. According to the report, the suspect’s warrant was confirmed, and the suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
COUNTERFEIT MONEY
On Oct. 28, in the area of South California Street, an officer stopped by a caller who advised that a female had come into the business and used counterfeit money to make a purchase. According to the report, the caller showed the officer a video of the female suspect. The officer was not able to identify the female suspect in the video, and the money was taken and logged.
LOST DRIVERS LICENSE
According to a report, on Oct. 29, in the area of Center Street, a victim advised he had lost his driver’s license at an unknown location. The victim requested a report for documentation.
WARRANT ARREST
On Oct. 29, in the area of Faulkner Street, an officer was patrolling the area when he noticed a female who had an active warrant out for her arrest. According to the report, the officer stopped and made contact with the female and placed her under arrest for the warrant. The officer then conducted a search and located narcotics on her person. The report said that the female, Leondra Pargas-Deleon, age 27, of Socorro, was charged with an active warrant and one charge of possession of a controlled substance. Pargas-Deleon was booked at the SCDC.

LARCENY, BATTERY ON A PEACE OFFICER
On Oct. 29, in the area of South California, officers were called to a store for a burglary alarm. According to the report, the officers arrived and began checking the building, and found a broken window. The officer noted that someone had entered and attempted to take items from the store. The officer located a wrench near a safe and spoke with a manager, who advised officers of a video of the suspect in the store trying to enter a safe that was not in use. The report said the suspect was able to take cigarettes. The officers went to a location where the officers knew of drug activity near the business and spoke with the homeowner, who had a new pack of cigarettes. The officers checked the outer area and found two males and two females. One male matched the description of the suspect and was detained. The other was also detained and questioned, the second male was advised the suspect had just arrived and was wearing a jacket that the officers saw the suspect wearing in the video and a blue Nike bag was founSavedra, age 28, of Socorro, was arrested, and the items were taken as evidence. According to the report, during the later inventory, the officer located fentanyl in the suspect’s bag. The officer went to the jail to drop off the new complaint and explain the charges, but the suspect spat on the officer’s face. The suspect was taken to his cell by jail staff. Savedra was charged with seven counts of criminal damage to property, seven charges of disposing of stolen property, seven charges of larceny, seven charges of possession of burglary tools, seven charges of possession of a controlled substance, and seven charges of battery on a peace officer, according to reports.
VICTIM HIT BY VEHICLE
On Oct. 31, in the area of El Camino Real Street, officers were called to the scene for a victim being hit by a vehicle. According to the report, the officers arrived and met with the mother of the victim. The mother advised that the victim arrived home and advised he was struck by a vehicle, and said her son was having trouble with the owner of the vehicle. The report said the victim was being seen by EMS on scene. The victim advised he was intoxicated and brought home by a friend and did not remember much. The victim said he had pain in his ribs and head. The officers checked the scene and did not find any sign of someone being hit by a vehicle. The officers later spoke with the victim at the hospital, and the victim advised he did remember a baseball bat, said reports.
SUSPECT THROWS POTTED PLANT
On Oct. 31 in the area of Sierra Bonita, an officer was called to a scene for an assault. According to the report, the officer met with the victims and was advised they were delivering food to a female victim when the suspect threw a potted plant at the female victim and struck her in the head. The female victim was able to get clear of the suspect, and the suspect continued to throw potted plants at the victim and the victim’s home. The report said the suspect broke a window on the victim’s car and home. The female victim said she was struck with the plant pot and threw it back towards the suspect’s home and broke his window. The suspect then began throwing more items at the victims. The suspect, Julian Flores, age 37, of Socorro, was charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, three counts of aggravated assault, and three counts of criminal damage to property.
