HARASSMENT
On Dec. 1, in the area of Highway 60, an officer was advised of a sexual harassment case. According to the report, the officer met with staff and was provided with a document that the mother of a student indicated inappropriate behavior toward her child by another student. The students are in a special needs class, said reports. The report states that the officers documented the incident at this time.
DAMAGED DOOR
On Dec. 1, at Garfield Head Start, a caller advised that an unknown suspect had damaged an exterior door on the school building. According to the report, the officer did see damage to the door. The caller and officer spoke to the person who manages the security cameras for the building, and they said that no camera view was available for the area with the damaged door. At this time, no suspects have been identified, said reports.
LIGHTBULBS STOLEN
On Dec. 1, in the area of California Street, a caller from a store stated an unknown suspect entered the store and took light bulbs from a package and then left the store. According to the report, the cost of the stolen items was $58.89. The caller provided a description of the female, and the officer is waiting to get video from the store.
DOG ATTACK
On Dec. 2, in the area of Reservoir Street, officers were called to the scene of a dog attack. According to the report, the officer met with the owner of the dog that was attacked by the suspect’s loose dog. The victim’s dog had visible injuries, and photos were taken of the injured dog. The report will be sent to animal control.
TRAILER NOT RECOVERED
On Dec. 2, in the area of Blue Canyon, a victim advised that he had a homemade utility trailer at on a property that had been sold to another person, and that he was unable to retrieve the trailer from the property. According to the report, the victim said he got in contact with the new owner and was still unable to recover the trailer. The officer spoke with the new owner, who advised that she had posted on the property that if persons needed to remove property from the address, she was giving them several months to get said property. The report states that the owner also said the trailer was never removed and is no longer on the property. No information was provided to the owner about what happened to the trailer, and the DA determined the incident to be a civil matter.
ISSUE WITH NO CONTACT ORDER
On Dec. 3, in the area of Center Street, an officer was dispatched to the SCPD for a male wanting to speak to an officer. According to the report, the officer made contact with the male, who advised the officer he wanted to make an information report about his ex-wife following him around when there was a no-contact order in place. The report states that the male said he thinks his ex-wife is trying to provoke him into making contact. The officer advised the male an informational report would be made.
WARRANT ARREST/POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
On Dec. 4, in the area of Winkler, a suspect was contacted for having a valid arrest warrant at Magistrate court. According to the report, the officer confirmed the warrant and arrested the suspect. The suspect was processed and taken to the SCDC and booked in with her property. The officer was later called back to the jail for drugs being found in her backpack: methamphetamine and mushrooms. The narcotics were logged at the police department, and charges were updated and approved, said reports. Felicia Davedra, age 37 of Socorro, was arrested and booked based on the two warrants and four charges of possession of a controlled substance.
SITUATION AT SCHOOL
On Dec. 4, in the area of Highway 60, an officer was dispatched to the location to meet with the reporting party, who advised the officer of the situation. According to the report, the officer was able to interview several people with parents present. The officer was made aware that the individuals involved had already received school consequences. The QR code for a picture going around had been inactive, said reports.
REPORT MADE OVER LANDLORD RAISING RENT
On Dec. 5, in the area of Spring Street, an officer was dispatched to the location of a female wanting to speak to a police officer. According to the report, the officer made contact with the reporting party, who said the landlord was requesting more money for rent. The reporting party stated she told the landlord she was not going to pay more than she was already paying. The tenant advised the officer that the landlord threw a shovel at the residence, and she would like a report to be filed. The officer advised an informational report would be made.
SHOPLIFTER FOUND WITH NARCOTICS
On Dec. 5, in the area of North 6th Street, an officer was dispatched to the location for a shoplifting. According to the report, upon arrival, the officer went to the asset protection officer, where he was told the female who shoplifted had given some items back but had already been previously trespassed from the store. The report states the officer then placed the suspect under arrest, and while attempting to place cuffs, the female pulled away from the officer. The officers were able to place the female in handcuffs and read her Miranda warnings. The female gave the officers consent to search her belongings, and the officer located narcotics, said reports. According to the report, Rachel Soto, age 29 of Socorro was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance, four counts of resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer, four counts of shoplifting and four counts of criminal trespass/not posted. Soto was booked at the SCDC.
WARRANT ARREST
On Dec. 6, in the area of Sierra Bonita, an officer working a special operation with the compliance office noticed a male riding a bicycle that had an active warrant out for his arrest. According to the report, the officer stopped the male and confirmed the warrant. The officer booked the male at SCDC.
WARRANT ARREST
On Dec. 6, in the area of West Place, an officer was working a special operation with the compliance office. According to the report, the officers were conducting a house check and located a female with three active warrants for her arrest. The officer confirmed the warrants and placed the female under arrest. The officer transported the female for medical clearance, and after they were cleared, they were booked at the SCDC.
VEHICLE WINDOW DAMAGE
On Dec. 6, in the area of Northwest Walkway Apartments, the victim advised that an unknown suspect had damaged a vehicle window where the vehicle was parked. According to the report, the victim did not know how the vehicle window was damaged. There are no suspects at this time, said reports.
SPEAKERS TAKEN
On Dec. 8 in the area of College, a victim advised that an unknown suspect had damaged windows in the building and taken four speakers. According to the report, the officer was shown the windows that were boarded up, and the officer did not see where entry was made. The victim valued the speakers at $2000. There are no suspects at this time, said reports.
EVICTION WANTED
On Dec. 8, in the area of Bullock Avenue, a caller advised that he had let his son and daughter move into his apartment, but now his son was making threats and being aggressive. According to the report, the caller wanted to have the son evicted. The caller was advised of the eviction process and told that officers could do a civil standby if needed.
BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION USED
On Dec. 8, in the area of Gallegos Apartments, a victim advised that an unknown suspect or suspects had used the victim’s bank account to make payments or purchases in the amount of $ 3199.56 to DC Flutterwave. According to the report, the victim did not know who could have made the transactions and provided documents to the officer.
NARCOTICS FOUND ON INMATE
On Dec. 8, at the jail in the area of Grefco, an officer was called for narcotics found on an inmate. According to the report, the officer met with staff who advised that fentanyl pills were found on a female inmade during a search. The narcotics were turned into police and the suspect, Leondra Pargas, age 27 of Socorro, was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, said reports.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Dec. 8, in the area of Fatima Road, an officer was called to the scene of an argument. According to the report, the suspect had a vehicle on the property and was asked to remove it. The suspect refused to remove the items, and the victim asked the suspect to leave the property, but the suspect would not. The officer met with the suspect and advised him he needed to leave or he would have to go to civil court. The report states the suspect refused to leave even after being advised to by the officer. The suspect, Jose Torres, age 75 of Socorro, was arrested and later booked at SCDC on one charge of criminal trespass/not posted.
BACKPACK FOUND
On Dec. 8, in the area of North California Street, a backpack was found in a restaurant. According to the report, the officer was provided with the backpack and located a wallet with the owner's ID and other contents. The backpack was logged as safekeeping at the SCDC.
WARRANT ARREST
On Dec. 8, in the area of Center Street, an officer was contacted for a suspect at the court compliance office. According to the report, the suspect’s information was run through NCIC, and the suspect had three valid arrest warrants. The suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
INMATE WITH PARAPHENALIA
On Dec. 8, in the Socorro County Detention Center, an officer was called to the jail for an inmate who was booked in with a drug pipe. According to the report, the officer retrieved the pipe and saw a crystal substance inside, which tested positive for methamphetamine. The case was staffed with the DA’s office, and charges were filed against the suspect, Felicia Savedra, age 38 of Socorro, for one count of possession of a controlled substance, said reports.
BAG LOST
On Dec. 9, in the area of California Street, a caller advised that he and a companion were visiting town and loaded a bag into a vehicle. According to the report, the pair was traveling on California Street, and they believe the bag fell out on the roadway. The bag contained clothes and an ID for the companion. The caller provided contact information for the companion if the bag was located.
CIVIL CUSTODY ISSUE
On Dec. 9 in the area of California Street, an officer was called regarding a custody issue. According to the report, the caller advised she and her ex-partner share a child, and the two agreed to have the child raised in Ohio with the father. The father agrees to allow the caller to visit, but not bring the child back to New Mexico. The mother said she is no longer going to consent for her child to stay in Ohio, said reports. The mother was advised it would be a civil custody issue and she would have to file in court.
UNKNOWN SUSPECT USING SSN
On Dec. 9, in the area of Calle Linda, a victim advised that an unknown suspect was using the victim’s social security number to open a bank account. According to the report, the officer contacted the bank and issued a subpoena for records on the account.
BB GUN ON SCHOOL GROUNDS
On Dec. 9, in the area of Michigan Street, a caller advised officers that a juvenile suspect was in possession of a BB gun on school grounds. According to the report, the officer was provided with two statements from suspect one, who wrote he did not want to say anything, and the second from suspect two, who said he had the BB gun in his backpack, and suspect one removed it from the backpack and was showing it to other students. The BB gun was confiscated and turned over to the police, said reports. The report was sent to JPPO for review.
