VEHICLE TAKEN
A victim said that a suspect came to visit and then took their vehicle without their permission on Oct. 1 near Vista De Socorro. According to the report, the victim told the officer the vehicle information and signed a theft declaration. The vehicle was entered in NCIC as stolen on Oct. 5. The victim contacted police and advised that he recovered the vehicle in Belen, NM, from his daughter, Ashley Romero, age 42, of Albuquerque, who was charged with one count of unlawful taking of a vehicle.
LIGHTS TAKEN
On Oct. 1, in the area of California St., a victim advised that an unknown male suspect had climbed onto the roof of a building and removed two separate lights. According to the report, the suspect has not been identified at this time.
WARRANT ARREST
An officer on patrol in the area of West Place on Oct. 2 located a suspect with valid arrest warrants. According to the report, the suspect was detained, and his warrants were confirmed. They were then arrested and booked at SCDC.
WARRANT ARREST
On Oct. 2 an officer was called to a scene on Chavez Street for a female suspect refusing to leave the property. According to the report, the suspect was contacted by officers and had an NCIC check completed. The suspect had a valid arrest warrant and was arrested and booked at SCDC.
FEMALE ARREST WARRANT
On Oct 2, in the area of Lucero and Buena Vista, an officer was advised by security that a female they were looking for was in the area. According to the report, the officer knew the female had an active arrest warrant. The officer made contact with the female and confirmed the warrant. The officer placed the female in custody, and the female was booked at SCDC.
FEMALE ENTERING VEHICLES AT SOCORRO ELECTRIC CO-OP
On Oct. 2 at the Socorro Electric Co-op, officers were called for a female entering vehicles in the fenced area. According to reports, an employee allowed the officers into the area, where they located the female suspect. The suspect was detained and told officers she was in the yard going through vehicles to steal items to sell. The officers were given consent to search her backpack and found items that were used as burglary tools. The employee was unable to determine if any of the other items were stolen. The suspect, Jaenee Martinez-Cruz, age 35 of Socorro, was charged with four counts of possession of burglary tools, eight counts of burglary, and four charges of criminal trespass. Martinez-Cruz was arrested and booked at SCDC.
WOMAN FOLLOWED BY MAN
A caller on Oct. 3 in the area of California Street advised that she was being followed and called by a male. According to reports, the caller said the male was calling her names, and she said the male’s daughter was accusing the caller of sleeping with her father. The caller said another officer was aware of the incident, and the officer called the other officer, who advised the female was in a relationship with the male. The incident was documented by officers.
CONCERN VEHICLE WAS TRYING TO BE STOLEN
On Oct. 3 in the area of Southwest Baca, a caller advised that she was told someone was trying to steal her vehicle. According to the report, the caller said she was told that someone was trying to sell her Chevy Suburban. The officers met with the neighbor, who told officers that the caller was allowed to leave the vehicle on their property. The incident was documented.
TOOLS TAKEN
On Oct. 3, in the area of Eaton Avenue, a victim said unknown suspect(s) had entered their vehicle, taking a Dewalt hammer drill and a bag of miscellaneous items. According to the report, there were no witnesses or cameras that would aid in identifying a suspect.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Officers were called to the area of 6th Street on Oct. 4 for a scene of an assault and damage to property. According to the report, the officer met with the victim, who said the suspect had made threats to the victim with a knife and then damaged the victim’s vehicle. The victim said the suspect wrote words on the paint of their car. The suspect was contacted and detained. The suspect said the victim tried to run him over a few days prior, and the suspect was going to find and beat up the victim. The suspect, Alex Montoya, age 28, of Socorro, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of criminal damage to property, and booked at SCDC.
WARRANT ARREST OF INTOXICATED MAN
An officer was contacted on Oct. 5 in the area of Reservoir for a scene of an intoxicated male causing problems. According to the report, the suspect was contacted and found to be intoxicated. The homeowner advised that they did not want the suspect at the home. The officer later did an NCIC check and found the suspect had two valid arrest warrants. The suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
WOMAN FOUND DECEASED
Officers were called to a scene on Oct. 5 in the area of Ivy Street for an unresponsive female. According to the report, the officer met with a caller and a witness who advised they had not heard from the victim in several days. Officers entered the home and found the victim deceased. OMI was called in, and the victim was later taken from the home to a local funeral home pending an autopsy.
SUSPECTS IN VAN
A caller on North 6th Street on Oct. 5 said two male suspects came into the store and made a purchase of $15, then proceeded to scam the cashier out of $599.41 during the checkout process. According to the report, the suspects left in a van with no license plate. At this time, they have not been identified.
LICENSE PLATE TAKEN
On Oct. 6, in the area of Bursum Place, a victim advised that an unknown suspect had taken their license plate from their vehicle. According to the report, the victim signed a theft declaration for the stolen license plate.
MALE FOUND DECEASED
Officers were called to a scene on North 2nd Street on Oct. 8 for a male found deceased by a caller. According to the report, the officers checked the victim and did not find any signs of injury. The office of the medical investigators was called, and the victim was taken to a funeral home pending autopsy.
MAN FIGHTING WITH TENANTS
Officers were called to an apartment in the area of Spring Street on Oct. 7 for a suspect returning and fighting with other tenants. According to the reports, the officer met with a male victim who advised that he saw the suspect go after the victim, trying to hit the female victim. The male victim stepped in and was attacked and struck and attacked by the suspect. The suspect then left, and the female victim advised that the male suspect ran at her and she was in fear of being hit. Charges are still pending.
WELFARE CHECK ON CHILD
An officer received a call for a welfare check on a child in the area of Tamarack on Oct. 7. According to reports, the officer contacted the caller, who reported she received information that the child wanted to cause harm to himself. The caller advised that the child disclosed that the mother and stepfather killed his dog for protecting him, and he was being abused by his mother, stepfather and uncle. The officer went to the home and was not able to make contact with anyone at the residence.
SUSPENDED LICENSE
Officers made contact with a suspect on a traffic stop in the area of Highway 85 on Oct. 8. According to the report, the suspect was unable to provide a valid driver’s license, and an NCIC check showed that the suspect had a suspended, revoked license with arrest pursuant. The suspect, Jesus Molina, age 26 of Socorro, was charged with two counts of speeding 16-20 miles over and two charges of driving while his license was suspended and booked at SCDC. The vehicle was released to the owner.
SUSPENDED LICENSE
On Oct. 8 on Highway 1 a suspect was contacted for a traffic violation. According to the report, the NCIC check showed the suspect had a suspended, revoked license with arrest pursuant. The suspect, Ronny J Baca, age 32, of Socorro, was arrested on two charges of driving with a license suspended or revoked, two charges of speeding 1-10 mph over, and booked at SCDC.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A victim in the area of Southwest Baca on Oct. 8 advised she was at a residence when a suspect asked for her husband. According to the report, the husband was the brother of the suspect, and the victim advised the suspect that her husband was working. The suspect, Aaron J. Gonzales, age 32 of Socorro, became upset and started hitting the side of the victim’s vehicle with his fists, causing damage. Gonzales was charged with one count of criminal damage to property.
BROKEN WINDOW
On Oct. 8 in the area of North California Street an officer was dispatched to the location of a woman wanting to file a police report. According to the report, the woman said she was inside of her vehicle placing an online order when she heard a window break. She said she did not see any other vehicles or people in the parking lot. The officer looked inside of the vehicle and could not find any object that may have been thrown through the window. The officer did locate a rock near the passenger side of the vehicle but it is unknown if that was the item used to break the window. The officer made a report and attempted to get security video from the scene but was unsuccessful.
SLAPPED ON BUTTOCKS
On Oct. 8 on North 6th Street a victim advised that they were in the Walmart store when a young male came up behind the victim and slapped the victim on the buttocks and ran off. According to the report, the officer was shown video of the male who was possibly a juvenile in the store with an older female. The two were unable to be identified by the officer.
BATTERY
On Oct. 8 in the area of Spring Street an officer was called to the scene of a battery. According to the report, the officer met with a victim who had a visible injury to his head. The victim said he was struck from behind by the suspect and the victim hit his head and fell to the ground. The officer met with a witness who said she had seen the suspect approach the victim from behind and kick them, causing the victim to hit his head on the door of a vehicle and then fall to the ground. The suspect, Benito Pavia, age 37 of Socorro, had run from the scene but one charge of battery was filed. The victim was seen by EMS but declined to go to the hospital.
SHOPLIFTER AT WALMART
On Oct. 8 an officer was called to Walmart for a shoplifter. According to the report, the officer was advised the suspect took a bow and arrow set from the shelf and ran out of an emergency exit. The caller provided the officer with a video and a receipt for the stolen items. The suspect, Ezekiel Orozco, age 33, of Socorro, was identified in the video but the suspect was not located. Charges are pending.
STOLEN VEHICLE FOUND
On Oct. 9 in the area of School of Mines, a victim advised that he checked on his vehicle and noticed it was gone. According to the report the victim said he left his keys in the vehicle. The victim provided a VIN and signed a theft declaration. The vehicle was later found by an off duty officer and turned over to the sheriff’s department to be removed from the NCIC.
ARGUMENT
Offiers were called to a home on Mariposa on Oct. 9 for a couple arguing. According to the report, the female said she and her boyfriend were arguing and he pushed her down, the male said that the female had picked up a knife and threatened him and when he took away the knife she fell. A witness said that the female did have a knife and had threatened the male. The female said she was having depression issues and agreed to go to the SGH for treatment. Therer were several children in the home who were taken to school, and a CYFD report was called in and a determination to place the children in CYFD was made.
BROKEN WINDOW
Officers were called to a home on Nicholas on Oct. 9 for an unknown person breaking a window in the home. According to the report, the officer met with the caller who said he was asleep when he heard glass break on a window and a TV fall. The caller allowed the officers in the home and the officers noted that the window appeared to be broken from the inside as all the broken glass was outside of the home. The caller requested a report be made on the incident.
WARRANT ARREST
On Oct. 10 in the area of Manzanares Avenue an officer contacted a female suspect outside of a business. According to the report, the officer obtained the female suspects information and completed an NCIC check where she was found to have two active warrants. The suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
WARRANT ARREST
On Oct. 10 in the area of Highway 60 a suspect was contacted for having a valid arrest warrant. According to the report, the officer confirmed the warrant and then arrested the suspect. Suspect was booked at SCDC.
WOMAN IN POSESSION OF NARCOTICS
On Oct. 10 in the area of Faulkner, an officer was called to the scene for a female being in possession of narcotics. According to the report, the officer met with the female caller who directed the officer to the suspect. The officer was provided with a baggie containing methamphetamine and half of a blue pill identified as fentanyl. The suspect was asked about the drugs and admitted to possessing the drugs and stated she got the drugs from a male. The suspect, AnaitGandonegro, age 32, of Alamo, was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance and arrested and booked at SCDC. The drugs were logged at the Socorro Police Department.
MISSING JUVENILE FOUND
A guardian in the area of El Camino Real on Oct. 10 advised that her daughter had left home the night prior and had not returned. According to the report, the guardian said that her daughter left with a male and female. The officer was provided with information on the female and attempted to locate the female at the male friend’s home but no contact was made. The female juvenile was entered into the NCIC as missing. On Oct. 28 contact was made with the guardian who said that her daughter had returned the following day after being reported missing.
WARRANT ARREST AT ABANDONED HOUSE
An officer was dispatched to a location on 2nd Street on Oct. 10 for three individuals outside of an abandoned house. According to the report, when the officer arrived at the scene a subject ran and officers gave chase. The officers were able to apprehend the subject and after running him through NCIC found that they had an active arrest warrant. The officers placed the male under custody and transported them to the SCDC where he was booked for his warrant.
SUSPENDED LICENSE, EQUIPMENT VIOLATION
On Oct. 10, in the area of Baca and Bernard, a suspect was stopped for an equipment violation. According to the report, the suspect exited his vehicle and refused orders to get back into the vehicle. The officers then detained the suspect who declined to give his information. The suspect was given one more opportunity and identified himself. The suspect was checked through NCIC and found to have a suspended revoked license arrest pursuant. The suspect, Jorge Rodriguez, age 24 of Albuquerque, was charged with two charges of driving while license was suspended or revoked and two charges of defective/improper equipment. The suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC and the vehicle was towed.
WALMART SHOPLIFTER
Officers were called to Walmart on Oct. 11 for a shoplifter. According to the report, the officer was directed to the subject who was in the loss prevention office. The suspect was advised she was seen concealing items in her purse. The officer recovered several items from their purse, the suspect, Linda Valenzuela, age 62 of Lemitar, was charged with one count of Shoplifting and was trespassed from the store.
AGGRESSIVE DOG
Officers were called to the scene of a dog at large and chasing a caller on Oct. 11 at Anette. According to the report the caller said she arrived home and saw the dog running loose. When the caller exited her vehicle the dog charged her. The officer was able to locate the dog and tried catching it but the dog was aggressive and charged the officer, the officer used OC spray on the dog and the dog ran off. The officers attempted to catch the dog with a catch pole and the dog attacked again and was sprayed. Animal control arrived on scene, the dog knocked down the animal control officer and bit him. The officer shot the dog with his duty weapon and the dog ran off. The officer contacted a supervisor and the dog was put down due to being shot. The owner arrived on scene and was notified of the incident and the dog being put down.
WOMAN BIT AT VETS OFFICE
A victim advised on Oct. 11 while entering the veterinary clinic with her dogs she was attacked by another persons dog. According to the report, the dog bit the victim and attacked the victim’s dog, causing injury to the dog. The dog had to have surgery for their injuries. The victim did not have information on the suspect dog’s owners. The officer met with the veterinary staff who showed the officers a video that showed the dog lunge at the victims dog but did not see the dog get bit. The officer was told by staff that the owner paid the victim’s vet bill.
MAN INTOXICATED IN VEHICLE
An officer was called to a scene on Blue Canyon Road on Oct. 11 for a scene of a man passed out in a vehicle. According to the report, the officer contacted the subject who was seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle with alcoholic beverages on the floorboard. The suspect was woken up and showed signs of intoxication. The officer asked the suspect to exit the vehicle and the subject refused. The officer attempted to pull the suspect from the vehicle and the suspect resisted and struck the officer’s hands. The officer removed the suspect from the vehicle and the suspect fell to the ground and hit his head. EMS was called to check on the suspect and the suspect was taken to the SGH by the officer. The subject, Alvin J Gonzales, age 50 of Socorro, was treated and later booked at SCDCon four charges of aggravated driving while under the influence (second or more subsequent offense) BA .16 or higher/refused test, four charges of driving with a suspended/revoked license, four charges of battery on a police officer, and four charges of resisting, evading or obstructing an officer.
ABANDONED VEHICLE
Officers were called on Oct. 12 to the area of Mariposa and El Camino for a scene of an abandoned vehicle. According to the report, the officer located the vehicle stuck in a ditch. The vehicle was secured and did not appear to be stolen. The vehicle was towed.
VEHICLE NOT RETURNED
On Oct. 12 in the area of Bagley, a victim advised that he had let suspects use his truck and the vehicle was not returned to them. According to the report, the victim was not able to provide information the day the report was made. The victim insisted that the officer was able to obtain that information. The vehicle was not registered to the victim but another person.
WARRANT ARREST/RAPE VICTIM
An officer was advised of a suspect in a parking lot in the area of North California Street on Oct. 13 who had an active arrest warrant. According to the report, the officer located the suspect and made contact to confirm the active warrant. The warrant was confirmed and the suspect was arrested and the suspect advised she was in need of medical attention as she was sexually assaulted the prior day in Albuquerque. The suspect was taken to the SANE exam clinic in Albuquerque. The exam was completed and APD sex crimes unit was notified of the incident. The suspect was brought back to the SCDC and booked.
VICTIM OF BULLYING
On Oct. 13 in the area of Francisco De Avondo an officer was called to the school for a victim being hit by another student. According to the report, the officer met with the grandparent who said the victim was punched while standing in line. The grandparent said that this was the third time the victim had been assaulted. The officer and grandparent met with the staff at the school who advised the principal and assistant principal were out for today but would be notified of the incident. The staff was advised of the concerns of the grandparent that the victim was being bullied.
