BROKEN WINDOW

On Oct. 13 in the area of Spring Street, a caller advised they noticed a broken window on a home that had been vacant for two years. According to the report, the caller and officer entered the home and noticed someone had been sleeping in the home. The officer located food and clothes in the home. The caller advised that he did not notice any items were missing. At this time, there are no suspects said reports.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

An officer was called out on Oct. 13 in the area of North California Street to a business for a male subject trespassing. According to the report, the officer met with the caller, who was the manager of the store. The victim advised that the suspect was in the store and had been previously trespassed, and they believed the suspect was shoplifting. The victim confronted the suspect and told him to leave, and the suspect threw merchandise on the floor and made a motion towards the victim as if to strike them, then left. The victim said he wanted charges filed on the suspect. According to reports, the suspect was contacted at a nearby business and advised that he was not allowed back at the store, and charges would be filed. Alex Montoya, age 28 of Socorro, was charged with two counts of assault and two charges of criminal trespass/not posted.

WARRANT ARREST

Officers contacted a suspect on Fisher Avenue on Oct. 14 who was believed to have an active arrest warrant. According to the report, an NCIC check showed the suspect had an active warrant, and the suspect was arrested and booked at NCIC said reports.

WALMART TRESPASSING

Officers were called to a store for trespassers striking an employee at Walmart on Oct. 14. According to the report, the officer met with the employee, who said he contacted two suspects who were previously trespassed from Walmart properties. The employee then contacted the male and female suspects and told them they were trespassed. The two were escorted to the front doors and told to leave. The female suspect then struck the employee with a fist and left with the male suspect. The employee provided a video of the incident and requested that charges be filed, said reports. Alicia Montano, age 44 of Mountainair, was charged with two counts of battery and one charge of criminal trespass/not posted. Adrian J. Benavidez, age 36 of Socorro, was charged with one count of battery and one count of criminal trespass/not posted.

BACKPACK STOLEN AT PLAZA

On Oct. 14 at the Historic Plaza, a guardian advised officers that a victim’s backpack was stolen from Plaza Park on Saturday during an event. According to the report, the victim advised that she asked a friend to put her backpack in a trailer, but the backpack was left under a table. The backpack was later missing, said reports. The backpack contained a school laptop, tablet, and a friend’s phone. The victim was unable to provide serial numbers for any of the missing items.

CIRCLE K SHOPLIFTER

An officer was called to a Circle K on Oct. 14 in the area of North California Street for a shoplifter. According to the report, the officer was advised that the female suspect had taken two bottles of whiskey and left, said reports. The officers were able to locate the suspect, who was in possession of the stolen whiskey. The suspect returned to the store and returned the whiskey. The suspect was cited in court.

SPEED VIOLATION

On Oct. 14, in the area of California and College, an officer stopped a subject for a speed violation. According to the report, the driver advised that he was in a rush because he needed to use the restroom. The suspect was advised that he was going to be summoned to the court for the infractions and was released said reports.

HOME BROKEN INTO

An officer was called to a scene on Oct. 14 in the area of Southwest Baca for a break-in with a female suspect carrying a rug and vacuum away from the home. According to the report, the officer contacted the suspect and saw the vacuum and rug. The female suspect said she had found the items in the street. The suspect was detained, and the officer escorted the suspect to the residence, where the officer met with the witness. The witness said the victim’s home was being broken into, and the suspect had taken items from the home. The suspect was arrested and taken to SGH for medical. At the hospital, the suspect advised that she was suicidal and wanted to have her handcuffs moved to the front. The officer declined to move her handcuffs, and the suspect attempted to move them herself and was stopped. The officer removed one handcuff and had to use an arm hold to take the suspect to the ground. The suspect sustained an injury to her eye. The suspect, Sabrina I Mexicano, age 39 of Socorro, was medically cleared and charged with three charges of larceny, three charges of burglary of a dwelling, and three charges of resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer. Mexicano was booked at SCDC.

BATTERY AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT

On Oct. 14 in the area of North 6th Street, officers were called to a store for a male causing a disturbance. According to the report, the male was yelling at staff in the pharmacy area. The officer met with loss prevention and the manager, who advised the officer that the suspect entered the store, went to the pharmacy, and began arguing. When they asked loss prevention to remove the suspect, the suspect refused. During this incident, the suspect hit the loss prevention officer with his phone. The officer was taken to the area of the suspect and told the suspect that he was trespassed and needed to leave. The suspect continued to yell and argue with the officer and staff, according to reports. The suspect was escorted outside by the officer and continued to argue. When the officer was placing the suspect under arrest, the suspect resisted and was taken to the ground. The suspect was restrained with handcuffs and arrested. The suspect, Stephen Griego, age 40 of Lemitar, was taken to SGH for clearance and charged with ten counts of criminal trespass, posted, ten counts of resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer, ten counts of battery, and ten counts of disorderly conduct said reports. Griego was booked at SCDC.

STOLEN VEHICLE, OPEN CONTAINER, POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE

On Oct. 14 in the area of the Super 8 west parking lot, officers stopped a vehicle with two suspects. According to the report, the vehicle had stolen wheels and rims. The first suspect was asked to exit the vehicle and was detained. The suspect told officers that his brother and girlfriend had stolen a car and put the stolen rims on the car, and the suspect was driving it. The suspect admitted that he knew the rims on the car were stolen. The officer met with the passenger and saw a baggie with a crystal substance that had not been there when the driver was removed from the vehicle. The passenger was also said to have brought alcoholic beverages into the car and offered the driver an alcoholic beverage said reports. The officer collected evidence and called for a tow truck. The car was taken to the police department for a search warrant. According to reports, the suspects, Tyler Burgoon, age 24 of Socorro, and Adrian Foulenfont, age 30 of Soccoro, were both arrested and booked on four charges of possession of a controlled substance, two charges of open container, and two charges of receiving stolen goods.

WARRANT ARREST

On Oct. 15 at 102 Winkler, an officer was provided with arrest warrants for a suspect who was in jail. According to the report, the officer served the suspect with the warrants.

DUI AND EQUIPMENT VIOLATION

On Oct. 15 in the area of California and Otero, a suspect was contacted for a traffic stop for an equipment violation. According to the report, the officer noted an odor of an alcoholic beverage on the suspect’s breath. The suspect was asked to perform field sobriety tests during which the officer noted several clues. The suspect was arrested, and the car was towed. The suspect agreed to a breath test and provided two samples, with the results being .14 and .15. The suspect, Johnny Sisneros, age 56 of Socorro, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence and two counts of not having required headlights said reports. They were processed and booked at SCDC.

FIGHT IN CONVENIENCE STORE

On Oct. 15 in the area of North California Street, a victim advised that while in the store, a suspect entered and the two exchanged words. According to the report, the suspect exited and returned, trying to fight the victim. The victim refused to fight, and the suspect swung at the victim and missed. The two fell to the ground and wrestled said reports. The altercation ended, and the officer met with witnesses and asked for video from the business of the incident.

SHOPLIFTER AT CIRCLE K

On Oct. 15, in the area of North California Street, an officer was called to the Circle K for a shoplifter. According to the report, the officer was given a description of the male suspect. The suspect was located and found to be in possession of the stolen merchandise said reports. The suspect was cited into court and then released. The suspect was also trespassed from the store.

WARRANT ARREST

A suspect was contacted on Oct. 18 in the area of North California Street for having a valid arrest warrant. According to the report, the suspect’s warrant was confirmed and the suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
