RECEIVING CALLS FROM UNKNOWN PERSON

On Dec. 16, in the area of Lemitar Lane, a caller advised her daughter was receiving calls from an unknown person. According to the report, the person said the juvenile daughter of the caller was going to get jumped. The caller requested the incident be documented due to ongoing problems with ex-friends wanting to fight the juvenile daughter.

TRESPASS AND POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

On Dec. 16, in the area of Juniper, an officer was called to a home for a trespasser on the property. According to the reports, the officer met with the caller, who advised the suspect was under the trailer. The officer knocked on the home and a while later, the suspect appeared. The suspect was identified and had been previously trespassed from the home. The suspect was detained and advised he was under arrest. The reports state the suspect, Alvaro Lopez, age 49, of Socorro, was searched by officers and found to have a baggie with methamphetamine on his person. The officer had the suspect's vehicle towed, and the substance was logged into evidence. Lopez was charged with two counts of criminal trespass/not posted and two charges of possession of a controlled substance. 

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

On Dec. 17, in the area of Giles, officers were dispatched to the location as the reporting party requested officers for an aggravated assault. According to the report, upon arrival the officer met with multiple people standing in the yard. Officers announced themselves and ordered the individuals one by one to come back towards the officers. The officers conducted a Terry search on every individual who made police contact. The reports state the officers did not locate a firearm at this point. The report states that after speaking to the two victims who were to exit a camper trailer in the backyard, the officers were made aware of which person had the handgun and that the handgun was black in color with a weapon light on it. The officers spoke to the witnesses on scene and were escorted into the residence and shown where the weapon was. The officer located the handgun wrapped in a blanket under the cabinet. The handgun matched the description the victims gave, and after interviewing the witnesses, officers made an arrest and transported the suspect, Eduardo Valles, age 25 of Socorro, to SCDC, where he was booked on six charges of aggravated assault and three charges of negligent use of a deadly weapon. 

NOISE COMPLAINT

On Dec. 17, in the area of the El Camino Apartments, officers were called to an apartment complex for a neighbor complaint. According to the report, the caller advised her upstairs neighbor was dropping items on the floor to make noise for the caller who lived beneath them. The caller said the neighbor had her daughter also dropping things on the floor. The officer advised the caller to notify her landlord about the incident, but the caller said they had already done so. The officer met with the neighbor, who said they were not dropping items and her daughter was not running around. The officer advised the neighbor to file a report documenting the incident and not to retaliate against the caller. 

OVERDOSE

On Dec. 19, in the area of Pinon Drive, an officer was dispatched to the Socorro General Hospital for an individual who had taken a large amount of medication. According to the report, upon arrival, the officer met with the individual who stated he did not mean to take the medication or harm himself but thought it would help him with his problems. The officer contacted SCI and informed them of the situation. The individual was transported to another hospital for medical evaluation.

DOOR KICKED OPEN

On Dec 20, in the area of California Street, a victim advised he was sleeping in his hotel room when an unknown suspect kicked open the door to the room. According to the report, the victim advised he did not know anyone from town and did not know who could have kicked the door open. The officer did not see anyone but did hear a vehicle speed away. The officer was able to view video from the motel show a younger person run upstairs. The suspect was unable to be identified. 

EXPIRED REGISTRATION

On Dec. 20 at the John Brooks grocery store, a suspect was contacted on a traffic stop for having expired vehicle registration. According to the report, the suspect was checked through NCIC and had a suspended/revoked driver's license. The suspect, Valente Silva, age 24 of Socorro, was arrested, and the vehicle towed. Silva was processed and booked at Socorro County Detention Center on two charges of driving while license is suspended or revoked and two charges of expired registration.

NO LICENSE PLATE

On Dec. 20 in the area of Fatima Trailer Park, officers contacted a suspect for not having a license plate on their vehicle. According to the report, the arresting officer was called over and took over the investigation. During the contact, the officer noted signs of intoxication, and the suspect admitted to consuming beer. The report states the suspect completed a field sobriety test. The suspect was arrested and advised of implied consent, and the suspect's vehicle was towed. The suspect later provided two breath samples with results being .12 and .13. The suspect, Daniel Omar Gonzalez Quintana, age 19 of Socorro, was charged with three charges of driving under the influence, three charges of minor allowing self to be served alcoholic beverages, and three charges of improper display of a license plate. Quintana was booked at Socorro County Detention Center.

WARRANT ARREST

On Dec. 21, in the area of Highway 60 and Grant, an officer was advised a suspect was in a vehicle and had an active arrest warrant. According to reports, the officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the suspect. The suspect was checked in NCIC for warrants and found to have an active warrant. The suspect was arrested and booked at Socorro County Detention Center.

SUSPECT THROWING ROCKS AT DOG

On Dec. 21, in the area of Abeyta Street, an officer was called to a home for a suspect throwing rocks at a dog. According to the report, the officer met with the victim, who advised the suspect was arguing with another male, and the suspect walked over to the victim’s property and threw a rock at the victim’s dog. No dogs were injured, and the suspect was identified on video. The victim declined to press charges but asked that the incident be documented.

 VEHICLE DAMAGED

On Dec. 21, in the area of Fatima, an officer was called to the scene of a vehicle being damaged. According to the report, the officer met with a victim and a witness. The witness said she and the victim were being harassed and threatened on social media. The two went to the home of the subjects who were messaging them. On arrival, the victim exited the car and was attacked by several subjects. Another subject entered the victim's car and drove down the road, where several other subjects damaged the victim’s car. The officers noticed the victim did not have any injuries consistent with being beaten up, but did see the victim’s car was heavily damaged. The officer was shown a video of the subjects damaging the car, but could not identify the subjects. The report states the car was towed from the scene, and the victim was unable to locate his phone after the incident and believes it was taken during the incident. 

DISTURBANCE AT RESTAURANT 

On Dec. 21, in the area of Abeyta Avenue, officers were called to the scene for a suspect causing a disturbance and arguing. According to reports, the officers arrived and met with the caller, who said the suspect came into the restaurant, causing a disturbance. The caller became agitated and said he would handle the situation if the suspect returned. According to the reports, the officers left and then were called back, and they were told the suspect left as the officers were enroute. The officers then located the suspect leaving the area and completed a stop. The suspect was detained, and officers were told the suspect was throwing a rock over a fence at a dog. The owner of the dog did not want to press charges. The suspect was advised he was no longer allowed inside the business and then released. 

BREAKING AND ENTERING

On Dec. 21, in the area of Coulson, a victim advised they arrived home and found their front door open. According to the report, the victim checked the home and found the suspect in the home in a bed. The victim advised he had recently evicted the suspect from the home, and the suspect was not allowed to be there. The officers arrested the suspect and removed them from the home. The report states when the officers entered the home, they observed a screen removed from the window where entry was made into the home. The victim advised that no items were taken and no damage was caused. The suspect, Bjorn Vincent Burnfield, age 22 of Socorro, was charged with one count of breaking and entering. 

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

On Dec. 21, in the area of Manzanares, officers were called to a residence for a female yelling for help. According to the reports, the officers arrived and located the female victim exiting the home. The female victim was scared and showed signs of distress. The suspect exited the home and was detained . The report states a witness advised the victim and suspect were in a physical fight, and the suspect was putting hands on the victim. The witness then declined to speak any further. The victim did advise she was struck by the suspect and choked during an argument. The victim did have choke marks on her neck. The suspect was arrested and processed. During processing and obtaining medical clearance, the suspect became combative and attempted to evade the police. The officers used force to detain the suspect. Once the suspect, Jondrick L Hunter, age 39 of Socorro, was cleared, he was charged with six counts of domestic violence, battery, six charges of resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer, and twelve counts of domestic violence, aggravated battery. 

LOST WALLET

On Dec. 22, in the area of Juniper Avenue, a caller advised he lost his wallet at an unknown location. According to the report, the caller advised the wallet contained $100, 2 credit cards and a driver’s license.

NEIGHBOR SUSPECTS NEIGHBOR OF INJURING DOG

On Dec. 22, in the area of North Sixth Street, a caller advised that he noticed his dog was injured and suspected a neighbor of hurting his dog. According to the report, the caller advised another neighbor had said her car was missing, and the caller found the cat dead in his yard and noted bumps on the cat, as if it had been hit with an object. The officer met with the suspected neighbor. The neighbor said he did not harm the animals and the suspect neighbor was advised to avoid contact with the other neighbors.

TRESPASS

On Dec. 22, in the area of US Highway 85, a caller requested a female be removed and trespassed from commercial property where the suspect stayed in her car. According to the report, the officer contacted the suspect and advised the suspect she needed to leave the property and was being trespassed. The suspect was given one hour to move her car. The officer checked back in an hour and the suspect was gone. 

WARRANT ARREST

On Dec. 23, in the area of S US-85, an officer was patrolling the area and made contact with two individuals. According to the report, one of the individuals came back with an active warrant for his arrest. The officer placed the male under arrest. After all paperwork had been completed, the officer transported the arrestee to Socorro County Detention Center, where he was booked.

SCAM

On Dec. 23, in the area of North California Street, an officer was dispatched to the location to speak with the reporting person about being scammed. According to the report, the officer made contact with the reporting person and was advised that he was trying to get a loan to pay off some debt. The reporting party said the individual told the reporting party that his credit was too low and could be improved by conducting four small transactions on his bank account. The report states that the reporting party told the officer that he gave the individual who claimed to work at the loan company his personal information, and his bank account was later flagged for fraudulent charges. The officer was unable to identify any suspects. 

MISSING VEHICLE

On Dec. 23, in the area of the School of Mines apartments, a victim stated they woke up and noticed their 2008 Honda Accord was missing. According to the report, the victim advised the car was locked and was last seen at 8 p.m. the previous night. At this time, there are no suspects.
