SHOPLIFTING – Leroy Gallegos, 34, of Socorro, was arrested for two counts each of an outstanding warrant, shoplifting and criminal trespass after an incident at Walmart at 3:17 p.m., June 1. He was transported to Socorro County Detention Center.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT – Sebulin Esquivel, 28, of San Antonio was arrested on two counts of driving under the influence and disorderly conduct after he was stopped by police office at 6:44 p.m. on June 1 on Alta Vista. Esquivel refused a sobriety test multiple times. The officer also noticed two empty beer bottles in the driver’s vehicle. He was transported to Socorro County Detention Center.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT – Dallas Arnold Thompson, 46, of Alpine, Wyoming, was charged with disorderly conduct following an incident at 7:23 p.m. on June 1. An officer was called to a scene of a male laying in the middle of Highway 85. When the officer arrived, he noticed a male sitting in the roadway with car parked next to him. The officer spoke with a witness who stated the male told him he was suicidal. Thompson was detained and taken to Socorro General Hospital for a mental evaluation. However, Thompson was aggressive with staff and yelling. The attending doctor informed the officer he was unable to do a mental evaluation due to his behavior, however he would clear the male for incarceration at Socorro County Detention Center.

SUSPENDED LICENSE – Lorenzo Gutierrez, 42, of Polvadero, was transported to Socorro County Detention Center where he was booked for driving while license suspended or revoked and an active warrant on June 2. A Socorro Police officer was patrolling when he noticed a vehicle commit a traffic violation at the corner of Manzanarez and Fifth Street. When the officer performed the stop, Gutierrez told the officer he did not have insurance or registration for the vehicle.

DOG ATTACK – Police were called to 704 Bagley Street on June 2 where a man was being attacked by dogs. When the officer arrived and located the male victim, he was shown cuts made to the victim’s body. The male advised the police he was attacked while he was walking on Bagley Street. The officer met with the owner of the dogs and was told the dogs were not current on their shots. The owner was cited into court and the dogs were taken to the shelter for quarantine.

BROKEN WINDOW – Socorro Police investigated a call of a broken window at 700 N. Sixth Street. When an officer arrived and met with the victim, he stated he was exiting Walmart when he noted the window was broken. A video was reviewed by the police. The victim said he was unsure when the damage occurred. Estimated value of the window is between $400 and $500.

MULTIPLE CHARGES – Alan Andres, 34, of Albuquerque, faces multiple charges after an incident at 1207 NW Frontage Road, Socorro, at 9 p.m. on June 2. Police were called to the area concerning a male damaging property. The officer met with an individual who advised his neighbor informed him of plants being damaged, but he did not want to press charges. An hour later, the officer was called to a church on the west Frontage Road where a male carrying a large stick had broken several windows. When Andres was located, police ordered him to drop the stick. He wouldn’t comply thus the officer deployed his taser. Andres dropped to the ground and was handcuffed. He was taken to the Socorro County Detention Center. During the booking, officers were advised about the break-in at Sofia’s Restaurant, where a case of soda was taken. Andres admitted to breaking the windows of both buildings and taking the case of soda. Window damage was estimated at more than $1,000. Andres was charged with multiple counts of criminal damage to property, burglary, resisting, evading or obstructing an officer, and larceny.

BATTERY – Shawna L. Savedra, 49, of Socorro, Morayma Martinez, 24, of Socorro, and Paul Savedra, 57 of Socorro were all charged with a single count of battery and criminal damage to property after an incident at 2:50 p.m., June 2, at 710 Blue Canyon.
