The Lady Warriors are 1-13 for the season.
1/08-10 Sandia Prep Tournament: L 51-27 to Sandia Prep on Jan. 8, L 42-34 against the Valley Vikings on Jan. 9 and L 68-27 to Deming on Jan. 10.
1/13 JV and V girls at home versus Ruidoso. JV lost, and varsity lost 56-18.

SHS Cheer and Dance
The SHS Cheer team will cheer at most home basketball games, eighth grade and up.
The SHS Charisma Blues Dance Team performed at the halftime of the girls basketball game on Jan. 13. The dance team will be at the Heart of Gold Dance and Cheer Competition in Los Lunas on Jan. 17, starting at about noon.
SMS Braves basketball
1/05 at T or C. Seventh graders lost by nine points, but the eighth graders won by three points with a buzzer beating shot by Jayce Angel.
1/07 at Magdalena: seventh grade won by 1 but the eighth grade team lost.
1/14 at home versus Moriarty, 5 and 6 p.m.
1/21 at Estancia, eighth graders only, 6 p.m.
The seventh graders are now 5-4 overall, while the eighth graders are 4-7 overall for the season.

1/05 at home versus T or C. Seventh graders lost 19-10. Eighth graders won 25-15.

Boxing
Socorroan Felipe Chavez fought in the Burque Brawl on Jan. 9 against John Makdessi. Chavez lost his pro boxing debut in the second round after an overhand right by Makdessi knocked him down.
