Socorro Film Society announces “Casablanca” screening
On March 31 at 6 p.m., The Socorro Film Society is putting on a screening of the Humphry Bogart classic Casablanca at Loma Theater.
The Socorro Film Society, which describes itself as “a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the community through the power of cinema,” hopes to accomplish this goal by hosting regular screenings of classic, independent, and documentary films. This gives the community access to films that might otherwise not be shown in mainstream theatres.
Admission is free, but the society asks for a suggested three-dollar donation per person at the door; all proceeds directly help the Socorro Film Society offset the cost of film licensing so they can continue bringing classic cinema to the community.
Loma Theater is located at 107 Manzanares Avenue.
