POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
On Feb. 1, in the area of Sean Ave, officers were called to a home for a possible break-in. According to the report, the officers had been to the home earlier in the night for the same call and met with the suspect. The home was checked, and no signs of anyone were seen near the home. The suspect was advised not to abuse 911 without an emergency during the first call. The second call to the home was checked again, and no suspects were found. The suspect was arrested and pulled away from the officers. The suspect said she needed keys from a purse; the keys were not located in the purse, but were found in a pair of pants. The report states the officers also located a glass pipe with methamphetamine, and the suspect said a friend gave her drugs for her birthday. The suspect, Amberlena, age 41 of Socorro, was charged with three counts of abuse of the 911 emergency system, three charges of possession of a controlled substance, and three charges of resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer. She was processed and then booked at SCDC. The narcotics were tested and showed a positive reaction for methamphetamine, and the evidence was logged at the Socorro Police Department.
WELFARE CHECK
On Feb. 1, in the area of Lincoln, officers were dispatched for a welfare check on a female that was not been heard from in several days. According to the report, the officers began knocking and received no response. The officers noted an odor and decided to make entry. Upon entry, the officers located a female lying on the floor. The female was unresponsive and deceased. The officers called OMI, and the female was processed and taken to a funeral home.
SPEAKERS TAKEN
On Feb. 2, in the area of Abeyta, a victim advised that an unknown suspect entered a vehicle and took speakers. According to the report, the speakers were valued at $1,000. There was no video of witnesses to the theft.
ACTIVE WARRANT
On Feb. 2, in the area of Center Street, an officer was called to the police department for a male wanting to turn himself in on an active warrant. According to the report, the officer met with a suspect and obtained his information. An NCIC check showed the suspect had a valid arrest warrant. The suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
EX-BOYFRIEND FOLLOWING CALLER
On Feb. 3, in the area of Highway 60, a caller advised that her ex-boyfriend was following the caller from the babysitter's home to her work. According to the report, the caller advised the male pulled in front of the caller while they were driving and was “break checking” the caller. The two entered the parking lot at Socorro General Hospital, and the caller notified her supervisors and security. The officer was advised that security did not want the male on the property unless he was there for medical treatment. The officer advised the male that he was not wanted on the property unless he had a medical incident. The male said that he was at SGH for an appointment for his girlfriend, which was confirmed by the officer. The incident was documented.
SHOPLIFTING
On Feb. 3, in the area of Highway 85, a suspect was found in possession of stolen merchandise from the store. According to the report, the suspect was known to have trespassed from the store as well. The suspect, Will D Jesuse, age 30, of Alamo, was arrested on two charges of shoplifting and two charges of criminal trespass not posted. Jesuse was booked at SCDC, and the cost of the stolen item was six dollars.
WARRANT ARREST
On Feb. 3, in the area of Center Street, a suspect was contacted at the compliance office for having valid arrest warrants. According to the report, the officer confirmed the warrant and arrested the suspect, who was arrested and booked at SCDC.

On Feb. 3, in the area of Mechum, an officer was called to the probation and parole office for a suspect with a valid arrest warrant. According to the report, the warrant was confirmed, and the suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
SHOOTING AT HOUSE
On Feb. 4, in the area of High School Road, officers were called to a home where someone was shooting at the victim’s home. According to the report, the officers met with the victim, who said he woke up to a loud banging and went to see what was happening. He looked out of the door and did not see anyone but did see his vehicle and home had bullet holes. The officer met with the neighbor and obtained video that showed a small silver SUV passing by the home. The officers checked the area and found a vehicle matching the car in the video. The officer noted that the hood was warm and met with the resident, who advised that she was the owner of the car, but had not used it. The owner said her son also uses the car, but was not aware of him using it. The officer met with the son, who said he had used the car an hour ago to take a cousin home. The officer checked the car and did not locate any shell casing from a firearm. The case is still pending.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
On Feb. 4, in the area of Park Street, an officer was dispatched to a location for damage done to property. According to the report, the reporting party told the officer that the zip ties holding her lattice to the main gate had been cut. The reporting party asked officers for documentation just in case any further incidents occur.
TRESPASSER
On Feb. 4, in the area of Sean Avenue, an officer was called to a home for a trespasser. According to the report, the officer met with the caller, who advised the female suspect was banging on the door at 4 a.m. A female opened the door to see who was at the door, and the suspect pushed past the female and began yelling in the home. Another male inside the home was able to push the female suspect out of the door. The female suspect is known to live in the area and the caller requested that the female suspect was known to live in the area. The caller requested the female be contacted and trespassed from the property. The officer attempted to locate the suspect at her residence down the street but the suspect was not home.
WARRANT ARREST
On Feb. 5, in the area of the Plaza, an officer contacted a suspect at Plaza Park for the suspect having a valid arrest warrant. According to the report, the suspect’s warrant was confirmed, and the suspect was arrested and booked at SCDC.
ROBBERY
On Feb. 6, in the area of Clark Field, an officer was called to a robbery. According to the report, the victim advised that another male had battered him and stolen items from him. The victim was unable to identify the male suspect, but was able to obtain several video clips of the suspect in the area and at Circle K. Another reporting person called and gave the name of a possible suspect who was bragging about beating someone up. The report states another officer made contact with that male suspect the following day, and the male suspect admitted to everything. The male, McKenzie Herrera, age 30 of Magdalena, was booked on other charges, four counts of robbery, and four counts of tampering with evidence, pending a warrant for this case.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE
On Feb. 6, in the area of Terry Avenue, officers were called to a residence in reference to a domestic dispute. According to the report, the victim opened the door and had clear signs of battery on her face and neck. It was discovered that the female victim had been strangled. The suspect was located in a bathroom closet and placed under arrest. Both females showed signs of being highly intoxicated. The female suspect, Destiny Alexis Brawley, age 24 of Lemitar, was charged with one count of aggravated battery against a household member, did not cause serious injury, but injury could have very likely occurred. Brawley was booked into the SCDC on her charges.
WARRANT ARREST
On Feb. 7, in the area of Texas Street, an officer observed a male he knew had active warrants for his arrest. According to the report, the officer made contact with the male and confirmed his identity. The male was confirmed to have outstanding warrants and was taken into custody. During the search incident to arrest, the officer discovered illegal narcotics on the subject’s person. The officers then questioned the male about his involvement in another case from the previous day, and the male admitted his involvement and that he had items that were taken during the robbery on his person. The reports state the officers searched an area where the male stated he had dumped several other items that were taken during the robbery but were unable to find any other items of evidence. McKenzie Herrera, age 30 of Magdalena, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
FRAUD
On Feb. 7, in the area of El Camino Real Street, an officer was called to the office of the Soccoro Police Department in reference to someone wanting to make a report of fraud. According to the report, the officer met with the reporting party and stated that her boyfriend’s sister had been receiving social security checks from a deceased individual. There was bank account information and other evidence that was turned over to the officer. The officer was advised that Social Security had already been notified, and they would be investigating this as a case of federal fraud.
JAYWALKING/WARRANT
On Feb. 7, in the area of Grant/Terry, an officer observed a male jaywalking and made contact with the male. According to the report, after the officer identified the male and ran his information through dispatch, they discovered that the male had an active warrant for his arrest. The male was arrested, and the officer obtained a medical clearance for the male and booked him into SCDC for the active warrant.
POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
On Feb. 8, in the area of Highway 85, an officer was dispatched to a convenience store parking lot for a driver almost hit another person. According to the report, the officer arrived and saw the female suspect walking around the parking lot, appearing unsteady. The female was contacted, and the officer noted signs of drug use. The officer asked for consent to search the suspect, and the suspect agreed. While the suspect was emptying her pockets, the officer noted the suspect was trying to conceal a pouch. The officer asked the suspect to empty the pouch, and the officer was able to see paraphernalia and blue pills identified as fentanyl. The suspect was arrested, and evidence was collected. The suspect, Karol M Walker, age 62 of Socorro, was taken to SGH for medical clearance. The suspect was not cleared and left in the care of the hospital. Charges were filed for one count of possession of a controlled substance.
REPORT FILED
On Feb. 8, in the area of Allen Court, a caller advised that her son went to the store for groceries with friends. According to the report, the caller said that the employee began verbally threatening the son and his friends. The officer spoke with the son, who advised that he and his friends were threatened, but he did not know why. The officer was shown messages that were sent to a friend of the son by the female, threatening to assault the son and his friends. The officer was able to speak to the female at the store, and she said that she was upset because the boys were threatening a friend of hers and had sent some of their friends to shoot at her home. The female was told to leave the boys alone, and the boys were told to leave the female alone.
LICENSE SUSPENDED
On Feb. 8, in the area of Second Street, an officer observed a vehicle committing a traffic infraction and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. According to the report, the officer discovered that the male driver had an interlock license, but did not have an interlock installed in the vehicle he was driving. The officer placed the male under arrest, and the vehicle was released to the registered owner, who was the driver’s father. The male driver, Daniel Jaramillo Jr., age 32 of Socorro, was charged with two counts of driving while his license was suspended or revoked, and two charges of stop/yield sign violations. Jaramillo was booked into the SCDC on his charges.
MAN RUNNING ON ROADWAY
On Feb. 9, in the area of California Street, an officer on patrol contacted a male who was running on the roadway. According to the report, an NCIC check showed the male was listed as a missing person. The male’s father was contacted and advised his son was located. The father and son spoke, and the male was removed from NCIC.
