Quemado runner takes first in NM Shamrock Shuffle 5K

“Quemado High School freshman CheryLyn Holliday is spending Spring Break on the running trail,” Nita Fay Holliday, Cherylyn’s mother, said. 

Cherylyn participated in the NM Shamrock Shuffle 5K in Rio Rancho on March 15. She finished first place in her age group and 44th overall.  

“Yes, she is very active in Quemado extra curricular activities…she keeps us very busy,” Nita Fay Holliday said. “She participates on the high school track and field team and was the only girl on this year's XC team.”

For winter sports, Cherylyn Holliday played basketball for the Lady Eagles, mainly for the JV team but she is also listed on the varsity team roster.
